Has anyone ever done the Graycliff Chocolatier- art of chocolate making an factory tour port adventure in Nassau? Wondering how it was. Debating whether or not to do this excursion or to just get off the ship and explore on our own for a few hours and then head back to the ship early. Thanks!

We did it a few years ago; from everything Ive read it doesn't change. It was a cute experience. It's not a big fancy factory like we would expect from US standards. It's an old, historic building and can be a bit jarring. :) The guide is adorable and fun, and her name is KoKo (or CoCo). You tour, you pour chocolate into molds and such. Then you get to take it. They also have a shop wher eyou can buy chocolate made by experts.

It's worth doing once if you have an adults-only or adults and older-kid group. If you're going to have to keep the kids interested, if they can't listen to the tourguide and follow directions, it won't be fun for you.

It would even be worth it to walk or take a cab over there and do some shopping, then go back to the ship. :)

Thank you! This was very helpful! :)

And if they have you make chocolate over fruit and you choose pineapple, eat it that day or evening. The pineapple starts to break down the chocolate, and it becomes a bit of a mess if you wait until the next day. :)

AND, just in case they are still doing it the same way, leave room in luggage for wooden boxes (that hold what you made) around...6x10x4" big. We had to leave 2 or our 3 behind b/c we had NO room in luggage.

Also very good to know. Thanks!

We really enjoyed it. It has been several years. DD14 was 7 when we went, and she really enjoyed it as well. She had a lot of fun making her own chocolate.

My husband and I did it, and we enjoyed it. I agree with the above posters: it's well done, priced right, and a cute little tour/chocolate making fun experience. They actually make the chocolate--you just get to put it in the molds and design your own. We answered some questions correct and received some extra chocolate from them.

As others have said the excursion is quite a bit of fun. And the chocolate is really delicious. There's no reason at all why you can't walk back from Greycliff and explore a little bit of town while you make your way to the ship.

we did it about 15 months ago. it was fun and a neat, quick way to see a little bit of Nassau and we still had a lot of time back on the ship. The chocolate was good... our 3 pre-teens/teens each intentionally chose white, milk and dark cups when asked, so they could "share" and do some mixing and matching in their chocolate making. Our extra pieces were taken home in clear bags, which we stored in the SR fridge.... I think we had to eat the fruit ones before hitting US customs. I'm really glad that we chose this excursion instead of just staying on the ship.. it was perfect for us!

We did this last year with three small kids...it's fun, just be realistic with expectations if kids are involved. I spent so much time trying to keep my kids from royally messing things up that I couldn't quite relax, but it's still worth doing. Highly recommend getting a ride there and back (included if you book through Disney, not included if you book on your own).

We did this last December. We have done 2 cruises since and have another one coming up next month and every time we book excursions my daughter asks if we can book another chocolate making one (unfortunately, nothing like this has been available on any other cruises because they've all been to other destinations). It was definitely one of her favorite excursions we've ever done. She was 10 when we did it.
