Good morning! For a family reunion trip in November, my SIL really wants to try the Gray Stuff but doesn't want to eat dinner at BOG. Does anyone know if you can walk up and order the dessert to go? Can we get it some place else? Thanks in advance! If I can't get it to-go or elsewhere, I may make a reservation for 1 and get her the dessert as a surprise.

Quick Service lunch has The Master's Cupcake listed on the dessert menu. Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with Lumiere's special "Grey Stuff"

BOG is it for the moment-you can go for dessert-they have many other "delicious" choices if you don't want the "Gray Stuff"...
feel free to browse through my photos...there are some photos of the dessert cart...

Thanks everyone! And Allison, I'm not sure if she knows what it is made of but I do know that she doesn't have any idea how hard it is to get reservations at BOG. I figured if there was an easy way to get her the dessert, I would try :) I missed it on the lunch menu so thanks, ripper! And nice photo jwfl! It does look good.

I had to try it because of all the raves that I had heard about "The grey stuff". As for me, I just didn't think it was anything very special. It wasn't bad at all. It was fine. I was expecting a dessert that was going to blow up my taste buds. I guess my expectations were too high with all that I had heard. Anyway, I will try one of the other desserts next time.

Just an FYI, in February, this was not the grey stuff...it was instead a tart like dessert. It had a chocolate cookie crust, with white mousse filling, with a good portion of grey stuff on top. I enjoyed it.

Also, the Master's cupcake with the chocolate sponge and grey stuff on top, and if I remember correctly, in the middle, is available at breakfast and lunch.

Also, some of the dessert parties have the grey stuff, although they don't necessarily call it that, used on mini cupcakes and cake domes.

I've tried the chocolate cream puff, which was okay, and the strawberry cupcake, which was pretty good.

My mom loves the sugar free lemon raspberry cream puff. My husband also really enjoyed. The lemon custard they use is quite tasty, especially for being sugar free.

This. It was not very good.

We had a BOG lunch last week and we ordered one cupcake so our little DGDs could try it out. One DGD took one bite, the other wouldn't try it at all. DW took a bite and we left about 1/2 of the cupcake un-touched. It's not even a huge cupcake like many you see at WDW. If someone wants to try a fantasy Disney item I'm all for that. But just between us Dis-ers...it ain't all that. ;)

DF and I had it on our last trip with dinner, and it was amazing. We both loved it, and it is a big part of the reason we are going back (and the potato leek soup, which was also fabulous!). I knew going it that it was just a cookies and crime mousse, but it was honestly way better than I had expected!

I concur with Micca and Mr. and Mrs. DD---it wasn't really anything special, but you kind of want to have it just because it's specifically named in the movie's song.
Maybe try to find a lunch reservation at an "off" time and just order the cupcake and two cups of coffee and go with your sister for a mini "coffee break" and split the cupcake with "the gray stuff."

You should be able to get a late morning ADR easily and you can order just the cupcake. If you want to get it for her as a surprise, take some kind of Ziploc container with you to put it in. I don't think they have any way to wrap it up to go, but if you get the ADR and preorder it, then all you would have to do is go in and pay for it and wait for them to get it to you. Then you could package it up in your container and take it with you.

Well that's what they do they change things up...all the time, but I believe the OP asked if this was available anywhere but BOG or if was available "to go"- ...I'm sure it'll be different next time we are there as well (we go there every few months;)...:teeth::teeth:

If they still have the tart like grey stuff, you should try it. It was pretty good. I talked to our server about the change and she said when they first introduced the tart it was rock hard. They got a lot of complaints, so they changed the tart so it crumbles more, like a chocolate shortbread cookie. I'm a sucker for anything cookies and cream, though.

We also tried "the grey stuff" and it was definitely nothing to write home about. Not bad but not great. The strawberry cupcake was very good.IMG_0423.jpg

BOG has the most underwhelming desserts in all of WDW, IMO. As much as we love the apps and dinner entrees, the desserts are a major disappointment. We always attend the dessert party on the nights we are dining at BOG just because of how mediocre their desserts are to us.

- You can not get in without an ADR and you can not get anything to go and you can not get it anywhere else

- Dinner Grey stuff has changed and not as in photos above (I believe this is 3rd version in last 4.5 years)
- It tastes kinda like the old chocolate cool whip they used to sell, more mousse texture
- Def not worth the effort based on flavor
- Agree BOG has the biggest letdown on desserts
- Especially since lunch QS and dinner TS are almost the same, making dinner reduced value
- Grey stuff, is just fluff on other stuff so dinner isn't your only choice to try it
- You may get ADR for breakfast or lunch and order just the Master's Cupcake ... and see the rooms
