Ok, i bought pre-marinated Shady Brook Farm Turkey Tenderloins (rotissery flavored). I'm ready to bake it, but theres not much sauce. Will it give off juice as it cooks? should i add water to the brown bits when its done cooking to make gravy? how DO i make gravy? Please help me!!

I always add water to my gravy if there's not enough juices. I usually add the water before I add my thickening sauce. My thickening sauce consists of a few spoonfuls of cornstarch mixed with a little bit of water. You pour it into the boiling juices, mixing rapidly. As soon as it thickens, remove it from the heat.

Good luck and enjoy.:D

If you don't have cornstarch, you can use flour using the exact same method that Kitty mentioned. That's what I use when making gravy.

I also make sure I have extra chicken broth on hand just in case I don't have enough juices for gravy instead of using water ;)

I have cornstarch and flour...

well, its been in the oven for about 15-20 minutes now and has given off a ton of juice! i guess thats good for my gravy! :teeth:

me too... it won't be ready till 8:05 though... can i offer you some carrot sticks or chips and dip, till dinner is ready?

i also have a lovely selection of soft drinks :teeth:

I make gravy using milk and flour. I also add some boulion to add flavor. You just need to stir alot.

screw the carrot sticks:eek:  - I'm off my diet this week LOL - I'm going to have some ice cream!;)

ice cream? before dinner?

ok!! whatever you want...

Early on, I found a hint about making gravy that I've used for 24 years.

I put the pan juices in a saucepan and whisk in a can of Cream of Mushroom soup. It makes a wonderful gravy. (Depending on the meat, I may add some Gravymaster to darken it.)

dvcreg,

That's one of my favorite things to do too! My favorite is pan fried pork chops...I fry the pork chops, remove them, pour cream of mushroom into the same pan to get all the little cooked bits mixed in (it also turns the gravy a nice brown color), then I put the pork chops back and let them simmer until tender. MMM!!! Makes me want to prepare some now...
