Okay, so does that mean that my gratuity will be taxed? I have a party of 6 or more and all ressies state that gratuity will be automatically added. So I am wondering if it gets taxed? It shouldn't right? In my experience as a waitress, you give a gratuity based on the meal price before the sales tax is figured. That should follow true at Disney also, wouldn't you think? Hmm. . . this has me pondering.
Thanks Tricia, this was the method I was using also. I have seen some threads say that the gratuity is also subject to the sales tax. Thanks for the help.
Gratuity should be based on the pre-tax amount of the bill.
Not sure about restaurants at WDW, but a lot of the ones I've been to recently calculate out the 15%, 18% and 20% amounts of gratuity for you, but many of them use the post-tax amount. So be careful when looking at the numbers given to you...
