Grapenut Ice Cream, anyone else LOVE it?

This is definitely a "northern New England" flavor. I can only think of one or two places that have it in Connecticut, however when I travel to Maine or New Hampshire, I can always find it. Anyone else love it?

YES! It's my favorite but I am very picky about it. There's a place in town that makes it great but they don't always have it. There's a place near my work that has it but I don't like it, it's too sweet.

I had regular Grape-Nuts for breakfast today - no milk, I like the crunch . I've never heard of the ice cream. What is the texture like? Does it have actual crunchy Grape-Nuts in it, or is it just the flavor?

We love grapenut ice cream too. Treadwell's in Danvers, Ma (in case anyone is passing thru) always has it.

KristaTX - yes it has actual grapenuts in it. They lose their crunch but it is still yummy.

I tried lobster ice cream in Maine - Yuck! I've even heard of Turkey ice cream.

I have only seen it in ice cream shops. With regard to the texture, it has the Grape nut flavor, can't be too sweet and it is more chewy than crunchy.

It's my favorite! Giffords here in Maine makes it! It's great with some nice thick hotfudge!

My daughter tried the Lobster ice cream at Ben and Bills in Bar Harbor- she spit it out. I don't know what the heck she expected

I LOVE Grape Nuts, the ice cream and the pudding!!

There is a restaurant up in Northern NH that makes Grapenut Pudding from scratch and it is awesome!! Oh yum!

I am from Maine and never realized it is a New England flavor. I love it. Our local shop serves Annabelles and it is so yummy. The page for location isn't accurate though because the shop we go to is not listed.
