Here's part 2
Whilst coats were deposited in the cloakroom by the Grannies and Laura , Jess and I did her Superman act
and quick changed from her snowsuit to Belle dress in preparation for our evening with Tinkerbell.
Marco had managed to get us a table in the second row which had an
excellent view of the main stage. The evening started with our meal ,three courses plus wine and water (salmon and veal for meat eaters, salad and quiche for veggies) followed by a really rich chocolate log that even I (with my separate pudding stomach
) couldnt finish.
It was then time for the entertainment to begin. It started with an incredibly talented violinist starting on a small centre stage then walking around the tables playing a mixture of traditional Christmas carols, music from Disney films and classical music.
He was followed by the arrival of Father Christmas
on the small centre stage who encouraged all the children in the room to surround the stage and sing Christmas carols with him. As with Chante Cest Noel in the main park they swapped languages with such ease you hardly even noticed and all the children were delighted to see him (especially since most parents I suspect had said he had gone home to the North Pole after his busy night at Christmas
).
After Santas departure with a lot of Ho-ho-hoing our little fairy friend Tinkerbell appeared and guided us through her world of dance , mainly on the large main stage but some acts also appeared on the centre stage which must have made the people at the back feel a little better as it was a very large room.
Our first visit was to the circus where we witnessed lots of acrobatic stunts and silly antics by Pluto and Goofy.
This was followed by a trip to Ireland where the Ilish(Jessicas word
) riverdance type dance took place along with Chip and Dale wearing little Green waistcoats adourned with four leaf clovers. The followed trips to Russia ,Latin America and Africa each with different characters and unique dancing.
The finale
The choreography was amazing and it certainly kept us all entertained. All too soon the evening had finished (nearly 3 hours disappeared so quickly ) and we had to bid farewell to Laura and Marco who had been really good company all evening. Marco even put on his new grumpy tie for our final goodbyes.
Whilst we were saying goodbye every parents nightmare happened -Jessica disappeared from our sight and despite shouting by several of us we had no response. My heart was in my mouth and after what felt like ages but was probably only seconds Laura and I spotted her dancing with some other children on the centre stage , twirling around oblivious to the upset she had caused. Once I had realised she was safe I didn't even have the heart to give her a row as she was delighted with herself for being able to be on the stage.
After we convinced our little performer to leave we said yet more goodbyes
to our Italian friends and went to wait for out taxi outside.
Unfortunately there was a problem with our booking and it arrived nearly 45 minutes late.
I think we had a transport jinx on us this holiday.
Still even this did not spoil our night and we all headed back to our townhouse for a well deserved nights rest.
Next : Our day in the park and the enchanted fairytale ceremony.
