After getting to bed eventually at about 2.00am I woke up at about 5.30am with a stomping headache - took a couple of paracetamol and it went away but I made a cuppa and started to quietly unpack.

The girls woke about 7.00am and everyone else not much later.

Sent grandad to the on site shop for muffins and milk and generally unpacked and checked out the villa. We were vey pleased with it - clean, tidy, as the photos had shown and spacious - girls went for a swim in the pool and then we all went to IHOP for breakfast - one of grandads favourite breakfasts.

We went then to an enormous WALMART and bought loads of stuff. I bought some cheap hair straighteners for about 15 dollars - not as good as my GDH but when we were in New York last year they just didn't work - something to do with different voltage - so I didn't bring them. I brought the cheap ones home with me - we may do a fly drive in New England next Autumn (2007) so they may come in handy then.

Also bought trac phones - they came with about 15 minutes of free time so we didn't buy any time since we only intended using them for emergencies (thankfully we had none) - or should we get seperated - happened a couple of times and we had enough air time to cover it. We left them behind in the villa - though about keeping them for the trip next year but were told that they had to be kept in use so we didn't bother.

We were in Walmart for ages, then back to the villa for steak and salad and an early night, after another swim.

The weather was glorious - hot and sunny and a cloudless sky.

Sounds as though you had a fab day ~ Did you go to the Walmart on the 192?

yes that's the one -- we must have been in there about 4 - 5 hours

those philly cheesecake slices which someone mentioned on here were wonderful

Sounds like a nice relaxing day although I am not sure I would still be married if I made hubby spend 4 - 5 hours in Walmart. :rotfl:

my son and d i law were the ones with the staying power in walmart - everything was so different - we eventually went and had a sit down to wait for them....even the little ones loved it

Now the holiday has started. Great day stocking up with supplies :)

what villa area did you stay in?
did you find it on the internet?

we stayed in Windsor Palms - I sought advice from people on this forum and decided on a couple of villa resorts and then I found the villa on the internet, through GreatRentals - I think - although it said Blue Ribbon villas on the villa web site - it was a UK owner which made the paynent procedure straight forward

Wow !! 5 hours in Wal-Mart, that is some kind of record, though a good day shopping :)

Well you did Walmart! We had a great time shopping there on our last trip and got some real bargains

Hi I wonder by any chance did you notice when you were in wallmart, do they sell Robinsons Apple & Blackcurrent squash?

As this is the only drink my daughter will drink and everytime we go we have to take bottles with us and a quick trip to the supermarket will solve this.

Have a nice day.
