My husband and I just recently adopted our 9 year old grandson. We are so happy because he now has medical insurance. I noticed spots on his arms and took him to a doctor. The doctor then referred me to a specialist who diagnosed him with a skin disease called vitiligo. This disease can be very mentally disabling because the spots can cover a large part of your body. Luckily it is only cosmetic but I am so worried that he will be teased by other kids. Currently, the spots are all over his arms, neck and beginning on his legs. I am thankful that he does not have a life threatening illness but I just hate to see him go through this.

I know many who have this, hopefully, it will not be too noticeable.. maybe like reverse freckles....kids love to tease about freckles too.

Maybe someone who has more experience with this will post here.. Hugs, and you are good to adopt your grandson....

I am sorry to hear about your grandson. I hope the kids at school don't tease him.

My mom has Vitiligo and it like I always tell her becuase she always thinks it is so bad but I always tell her it dosent matter what is on the outside it matters what is on the inside. But so sorry to hear
