Grandma Died

My grandma died this morning at 9:00. She had been battling Alzheimer's Disease for six years. I am sort of relieved that she died because we can now have some closure. It sounds like I am going to have to miss school, too.

I'm sorry, that really sucks.....my grandfather had Alzheimer's pretty bad and i know what you mean when you say you were relieved. You at least know that they arent suffering anymore. But im still sorry to hear your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Three of my relative's have/had that disease and although it is nice to have closure, it's still hard!!

I'm am really sorry!!!

Over the summer, my great- grandmother died. I was relieved that she did, b/c she had had a stroke, and wasn't all there. She didn't know who anyone was anymore. I think she fell and broke bones a couple of times. She was so skinny- she only weighed about 90lbs. which is what I weigh! She was living with my grandma and grandpa, so when ever we would go over there, all she would have to eat would be like a ¼ of a sandwhich and a sip of tea.

I know how you feel!! Don't worry, you know she's in a better place with no pain.

I'm really sorry for your loss! Losing a loved one is very hard. I lost an uncle to cancer a few years ago. But at least now she's not suffering. {{{{HUGS}}}} {{{{HUGS}}}}

Disney Dad says...I am so proud of all of you. As an old guy (41) I am very touched by how well you are posting. It makes me believe that our country is creating new leaders who will carry us for the next generation. I only wanted to check out the posts, to see if my 11yo DD could post here. I believe she can. Lastly, I hate to say that Elizabeth's grandma is suffering from Alzheimers and it doesn't look good. She still knows us, but can't remember anything past the last ten minutes. I'm so sorry your grandma died, but I believe she is in a better place. God bless your family, and god bless America in these difficult times.
