Here is an article on VEP off the DVC Members Only Website. You may want to note the last paragraph, it states thta here WILL be Grand Villas at VEP. There are two drawings in this article too, and one shows the themed pool at the resort.
On Course For A New Resort!
As the countdown continues to our 10-Year Anniversary,
DisneyVacation Club is proud to reveal plans for our newest,
proposed addition to the DisneyVacation Club Family of
resorts (Subject to obtaining all necessary approvals).
Nestled within the trees of award-winning Disneys Eagle Pines
Golf Course atWalt Disney World® Resort, the as yet to be
named resort is planned to be a 600-unit resort rooted in the
architectural influence of Addison Mizner, a celebrated 1920s
architect who inspired the renaissance of Florida resort design.
The atmosphere and elegance of southeast Florida (think West
Palm Beach and Boca Raton!) will infuse the art and
architecture of the property. Special touches will include tile
roofs, fountains and lush, tropical landscaping.
Commissioned to design the resort was renowned architect
Graham Gund, who created the architectural look for such
Disney projects as Disneys Coronado Springs Resort and
DisneysVero Beach Resort - another DisneyVacation Club
property. Gund designed the resort to take advantage of the
pristine setting found at Disneys Eagle Pines Golf Course
location while maintaining the integrity of the existing golf
course. Many guests staying at the resort will have views to
Disneys Eagle Pines Golf Course but golfers view of the
property will be buffered, with resort buildings stepping
down in height as they near the golf holes.
The first phase of the Eagle Pines resort is currently planned
to consist of an Inn Building (check-in area, restaurant, retail
space, living room, accommodations, health club, and theme
pool), along with 1 Villa Building that is scheduled to open to
guests in the spring/summer of 2004.Then four additional
Villa Buildings will be added throughout that year for a total
of 360 studios, one- and two-bedroom villas and grand villa
units. The final phase of development is proposed to be five
additional Villa Buildings with 240 units currently scheduled
to open by spring/summer of 2005.
