Looking to book a 3 night stay in a AK Grand Villa the last week of July. While there we will probably spend one day in one of the water parks.

I'm looking to hear if there are any differences between the Kidani Grand Villas and the Jambo House Grand Villas.

We've stayed at the OKY, SSR, and BLT Grand Villas in the past.

Any other info or advice is welcomed.

  • Vacation Homes located in Kidani Village have an additional sitting area upstairs with a queen-size sleeper sofa (maximum occupancy is 12, but extra sleeper sofa adds flexibility for sleeping arrangements)
  • 2,349 sq. ft. in Jambo House
  • 2,201 sq. ft. in Kidani Village

Not sure if they are still there, but the Jambo House GVs have a pool table.

I think there are only 8 Jambo GVs so getting one for July might make your decision easier as they could possibly all be booked by now. I've tried a few times at 7 months out and haven't been able to score one at Jambo using my BCV points. I think the Kidani ones are really nice.

I know that Jambo has a pool table and a rectangular dining table that will seat up to 12. Kidani has no pool table and the round dining room table will only seat 8.

I did like the extra upstairs living room at Kidani. We designated that area the kids play room and they left puzzles, coloring books, etc out while the adults enjoyed the clutter free living room downstairs.

Also, Kidani GVs have two separate entrances, one on first floor and one on 2nd floor.

There are 6 GVs at Jambo and 16 at Kidani. Two at Kidani are standard view (originally savanna view but location of those two is an area where animals seldom go and thus they were changed to standard). As to major differences, all Jambo GVs are single story giving you the large combined living room, dining, and kitchen area that screams lots of space; all of Kidani's GVs are two stories and very good including because of the area at the top of the stairs that is a nice sitting and sleeping area with a pull-out couch. Personal view: Jambo GVs are the best on site and include large porches (much larger than Kidani) and a pool table and the whirlpool tub in the middle of the huge master bathroom which faces a large, in-the-wall TV. Being in Jambo, they are also in the building that has three restaurants, the larger lobby and store and the larger pool (with lots of areas to find shade).
