I am a Non-DVC member and am interested in staying in a 3 BR Grand Villa. Can I book a Grand Villa through Disney, or do I have to rent points from a DVC member?

You might be able to get one through Disney during a VERY slow season (like Hurricnae season) but the chances very slim even then. Your best bet to assure yourself one would be to rent points from an OKW, BWV or SSR owner (BWV only has 7 GV's) and be prepared to pay up for the points.

If you are thinking about renting a GV from Disney, be prepared to sacrifice an arm and a leg...I think it is over $1000/night at any of the DVC resorts! We stayed at an OKW GV in Nov. using our DVC points and it was WONDERFUL...but if I had had to pay cash, i am not sure I could enjoy it so much! Definitely try to rent points and avoid Friday and Saturday night stays!

You might also want to be sure and contact an owner renting point that can be booked right at the 11 month booking window. This is especially true if you are trying for a BWV or OKW GV.

If you reserve through CRO, prepare to pay an arm and BOTH legs. A GV at BWV is about $1500 - $2000 a night, depending on season. OKW and SSR are $1100 - $1545.

For about the same money, you could get the Admiral's or Vice Admiral's Suite at the YC - which, I believe, includes Concierge.

Renting points may not be "cheap", but it wouldn't run as much as through CRO.

A GV for a week at OKW in September is 356 points. For Sun to Friday, it is 180 points, so VERY affordable at $11/point.
