We love to establish a group of friends and relatives to go to WDW for what we call "super vacations". During the millennium period we were 17 staying in 5 BW 1 bedrooms. This autumn we will be a group of 20. We have a BW Grand Villa reservation along with 3 one-bedrooms. We always do something different, and spread out for most days, while we also have 2-3 gatherings with the whole group. Since we have the GV this time, we plan to invite everybody over for a dinner-party one evening. I was just wondering - how would you set this up ? Is it possible to order an in-house buffet or something similar, brought up by room service, with a waiter that stays for an hour and takes care of serving food and drinks ? (And yes we like Spoodles pizzas, but not on this occation). Some snacks, fancy finger food, sweets for dessert, music and dancing sounds more like it. Is there a CD player in the GV ? Please any suggestions or past exeperience that you would like to share ?

I'm sure WDW catering could set this up for you. Let them know what you have in mind and they'll get you started. It won't be cheap but I'm sure it will be wonderful. They do these kinds of events all the time for convention folk.

I recall the last time we stayed in a GV at the Boardwalk, they had a brochure with prices for food/drinks/bartender/ price per hour etc... in the room. Sounds like a lot of fun. We're doing the same this Nov. with 38 others (so far). 8 rooms and growing.

This is what makes the vacation fun. We leave a week from today with a group of 27 at the Boardwalk. three studios and two-two bedroom units

That's what is great about DVC. It's being able to share it with a bunch of friends and family. Nuthut, I was wondering how many were doing the math from the debate board 5 in a room thing. We're still under, but we have a GV. as one of the rooms. We're Still trying to rent more points for more friends and family members. I was thinking, if we get all the 8 or so families to put the 3 and unders in one room, I mean under 3 year olds, ah.. never mind. Just kidding, don't delete me. To answer the 5 or more in a room, go to the debate board. I'm on the waiting list for more BW points, but I know my "LIBERAL" DVC guide will mess it up,(he's on vacation). Just need to find someone willing to rent at those low prices of $10 per point, or a reasonable price to a good looking DVC member. Maybe, I should try garage sale.com, sorry EBAY. Naw, even my computer won't go there. Maybe, I could buy at Vero and trade in? My guide said it's easy. Now if I can only get parking at the Boardwalk for all my guests. I know we can get all the kids to go down and steal the towels at the pool, so that's no problem. We can see the sunrise (unless we have a preferred view), we can measure the rooms, (25% bigger at the OKW, but less dues, oh boy!), we can go over to the "unhappy" birthday party at OKW, (wish he would get it right after six or more years, it's unbirthday party!), we could walk the long halls at the Boardwalk, get some great excercise to work off all that food down on the boardwalk, (make sure not to spend $50 at the Hotdog stand),but mostly we'll JUST have a great vacation.

Sorry, I just took a speed reading course, and some of these topics may have run together.

So nice to see a sense of humor on these boards once in a while!! keep it up pete!! ;)

When you wish upon a star...DVC will take you far...anything your heart desires....will come your way

We just got back from a family gathering at BWV where we had a 2-bedroom and a Grand Villa. We had 17 people (8 adults, 9 kids) in our Grand Villa for dinner one night and it worked out very well. This is the second time we've done this. This time our rooms were on the 5th floor and the GV we had was a two-story model. The first time we had a GV on a lower floor and it was all on one level. The one-level has more floor space (and furniture) in the central living area, a larger balcony, and would be much better for a large group to get together - The 2-story was no problem for our family though. Both times we were all able to sit down to eat at the same time - adults at the main dining table and kids around the smaller tables on various other chairs from the unit and balcony.

We cooked a big ham dinner but I'd imagine that Disney's catering services would do whatever you want. Room service is of course another option and they have all kinds of cheese, snack plates, and bar setups available for any size group.

The GV has a CD player in the living room - you'll need to bring your own CDs though.
