Next year, we are planning to rent a Grand Villa at VGC for an event where about 15-20 others will join us. Has anyone ever had the hotel cater a cocktail party in a GV? I'd like to have a bar, some snacks and then have them clean up so we come back to a clean room after dinner.

P.S. I've never actually been in a GV but I've seen videos of them. I think it's large enough, including the balconies and the upstairs common area, but please tell me if this seems like a crazy plan. It's probably the one and only time we will rent a GV and we want to make the most of it.

IMO resort rooms are not for a 20 person party. If you had one next to my room I would be calling the management.

If you want to have a party, see what small event space is available through Disney.

Since that is way over your occupancy level I wouldn't think they wouldn't allow you to host a party and cater it.

Would you ask them to pay for parking? I would imagine you could get an outside firm to handle, but the "bar" may required a bartender from any service group. I would think unless you have nothing in the room, I wouldn't want outside firm cleaning up after.

Yes they will let you host the party and they will cater it. And as long as it's not out of control or rowdy management will listen to your call and say "Thank you" LOL!

I have a friend who did this. Disney did the catering. It was part of her wedding so the catering probably was arranged by Disney weddings. Not sure who you would normally call.

Her's was at OKW and she gave a list of guests to the front desk who I believe gave it to the security guy. BUt all you really have to say is you are visiting friends anyway to get in LOL!

These happen all the time. My family evidently used to have Disney cook a turkey dinner on thanksgiving right in our villa (I can't remember this for the life of me!)

Being that most hotel guests have to pay for parking in California I suspect your guests may have to pay for it but I would say if you arrange it through Disney and pay for their catering services they will help take care of things- I doubt you are allowed to do this through an outside caterer.

Interesting. Maybe it was you can't do it "unless" they cater it. I know others have been turned down for wedding events at Grand Villas.
