Oh good heavens! I'm only 42 and too young to be a grandmother, too, especially since my oldest just turned 17, but I want to be called Granny and I'd wear the name with pride! Absolutely no way would I want to be called Auntie from my grandchildren!
THANK YOU!!! Seemed as though everyone thought I was in the wrong here when my MIL wanted to be called "auntie cheryl" but let me tell you, I really don't mind what each grandparent chooses to be called, really I don't. Maybe it was the way she came about it. We were all sitting around discussing what everyone would be called and she says, "Well I am WAY too young looking (which she wasn't LOL) to be a grandmother and I don't need people thinking I'm older than I am. So they (the babies) can call me "auntie" and better yet, when I'm babysitting and I take them to the store I am going to be claiming that they are "my children". You have to understand, she's the type that is all about "HER", nobody else. And another thing, I didn't want my kids getting all confused about calling her "auntie" when she's clearly not an "aunt" to them. She is their grandmother and should be called that (well, atleast a grandparent related name whether it was grandma, memere, nonni, or any of the other names I've heard mentioned) I don't think it was any kind of rude thinking otherwise.

Don't get me wrong. I think it's sweet. I think it's because she has a bird feeder in her backyard.)
He has called me this since he started talking and he is 3 now. If he is asked "Where is Grandmom?" he points to me. But for him, I am his Ying Ya and I am on
whenever he calls me it. I hope it never changes.)
cause that's what she calls her old teacher friends. we laugh at the thought of my son going to disney and saying hey old _____ lets go on pirates! LOL
, but she still can't decide on what she wants to be called.
my son is 18 months old...you'd think she'd decide by now.
