Has anyone rented the Grand One (the private yacht at the Grand Floridian)? I am turning 50 this year and thinking it would be the perfect party for some of my besties.
Just wondering if it was as amazing as it looks or worth the time/money?
We have a 2 bedroom booked at GF in January and I think I want to book it for that trip.
Thanks in advance!!

We have considered it, the rear deck area is pretty small and IMO the grand doesn't have any benefit over a patio boat.

You might check with @WebmasterPete (Pete Werner), the owner of DisBoards. He rented the Grand One back in May and used it as a fundraiser for the Give Kids the World charitable organization. I believe the podcast team is out at D23 right now, but he might see this and respond.

I know someone that was one Grand One to watch the fireworks. She thought there was very little room to view the fireworks and that only one that had a good view was the Captain. You can't see anything from inside and the outside is really tight for even 3-4 guests. She said the pontoon boats had better views of the fireworks.

Thanks everyone!! I'm looking into the pontoon boats now or maybe just doing the dessert firework party for everyone.
Thanks!!

Can't you charter a pontoon boat to watch the fireworks?

No, the Pontoon boats must be returned well before dark, at least at VGF. This is for the ones that you drive yourself. If by charter, you mean hire a Disney cast member to drive it and be responsible, I don't know.

A little google-fu, and I found that you can indeed hire a Disney Captain to take you out on a pontoon for fireworks etc. Here is the link. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/specialty-cruises/

Using a Disney Captain is what I was thinking when I posted that a patio boat was better than the Grand for watching fireworks.
