Grand Marshall have you done this and how

The only hint I can give is that our person choose people who were not in a rush.
I believe that is the case; I think that's why we were chosen. Plus the fact that we stopped and engaged the CM and showed our enthusiasm for being at Disney in a way that must have made him think we were the right choice.

That is also how it happened for us.

Brick chose our family too! We had come in early for an ADR at Crystal Palace and were beyond thrilled to have Main St so quiet. My mom was kind of dancing along to the music and a photopass photographer had just taken our picture with my dad's camera. We were looking at it and Brick came over to ask if he could take one for us. He then strolled along with us and asked if we had any plans later. My mom was suspicioushe was trying to sell us Vacation Club or something! needless to say it was an amazing memory that we still talk about all the time. A once (or twice apparently if you're fortunate!)in a lifetime experience.

Omg, Brick was our Tour Guide years ago on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. He is simply AWESOME!

we were picked for AK grand marshalls...and I can agree too it was 100% random- we were in camp Minnie/mickey meeting characters and we were kind of standing around deciding where to go next when a guy with a clipboard came up to us- I thought he was a survey person and I told him I love to get picked for surveys ( I really do- and then getting the follow up ones at home!) and so he asked about our stay and out pins (it was our honeymoon) and asked if we would be in the parks this afternoon..i want to say it was around noontime/1pm when he asked us and then invited us to be grand marshalls! it was really cool

Something I will never forget! It was random.

We still mention Dean's name from our November 2011 trip! DGD's were nine and thirteen when we were randomly chosen to be GM. Our extreme happiness from being at MK must have caught his eye. To be in the parade was a blessing and the magical highlight of that trip.

We were picked for MNSSHP, I think 2007. There were two families of 4, and we were all in costume. I was buying something in Adventureland, and someone came up and starting talking with the rest of our group, and then asked if we wanted to do it. My friend and I had to two front facing seats on the bus and the rest of our group sat on the sides. It was amazing!

We were selected in 2008. My entire family (12 of us) were by the bakery about 10 am. Most of us had been in the park for a couple hours because of emh, we came back to meet a few that slept in. While we were chatting, my 8 year old wandered over to a cast member not far away to pin trade. I started watching him but stayed back. I was in awe of the conversation these 2 were having, that alone was very magical. My family eventually came over to pin trade and visit too. He asked us how many were in our group and I told him 12. He seemed disappointed but I was clueless why he would be. We said our goodbyes and we went into the Emporium to shop. I came out alone after awhile and saw him standing alone again. I approached him to tell him I was still thinking how cool and unique his name was-Brick. He threw his hands in the air and said that's it, how many are in your immediate family? I told him 5 but we have a friend with us so 6. He said, my boss, Mickey Mouse would like to know if you would be the Grand Marshal in our parade today. I was crying and said we would love to, but my oldest and his friend (who were seniors and too cool for that) wouldn't appreciate it the way my parents would, could they come instead? He said he needs to get a visual first-no idea why but otherwise yes. At this point my husband and 2 youngest kids had come outside and were just as excited as me. We went into the Emporium to find my parents, Brick then asked them. There were many more tears! The rest of our party got to watch the parade from the VIP area. We were given certificates, Mickey ears and he gave my dad a brimmed hat because my dad was wearing one similar to Brick's and commented that he liked Brick's Disney hat. It was so magical and something I am so grateful to have been a part of. We brought him back a pin with a thank you note after the parade. We return every trip to say hi to Brick and take an updated pic. I have had a beautiful wedding and 3 healthy births, but it remains the best day of my life. Good luck!

Our family was just pixie dusted a few weeks ago in February. The 7 of us arrived to Magic Kingdom early on a Sunday. A couple hours later we were back in Frontierland and some of our party went to the restroom. I stayed out with two of our grandchildren. A moment later Brick came up to me and said he liked my Disney pirate shirt. I thanked him and he asked are you real pirates to which my only reply could be “Yes” at which point he started telling pirate jokes. As more of our family emerged from the restroom Brick asked how many of us there were. I said 7 and when the last of us were together he asked whether we were going stay for the afternoon parade. We said of course. Brick said he could let us know about a great spot to watch the parade from but to follow him over towards a more private spot to tell us. At this point we are just thinking we’re going to have a secret spot to watch the parade from. And then Brick lays the bombshell on us and asks if we would want to be Grand Marshalls for the parade. Needless to say there were a lot of emotions. We met him back later before the 3pm parade where he gave us all Grand Marshall Mouse ears, told us about what would happen and to make sure we never stopped smiling or waving till we exited off stage. He also told us he’d been with Disney for 35 years and one of his first positions had been at the Horizons attraction at Epcot. It wasn’t long before the band came out and the big white custom built car drove up with our driver, Courtney and we all loaded. We finally got moving and the rest almost seems a blur as we rode through the park with our name and home town being broadcast all along the way. Then after we had made it back to the front and shown our special spot for viewing the parade, Brick met us again and gave us certificates stating we were Grand Marshalls and took many photos. None of us will ever forget this moment and as one of our grandson’s said it was the best day of our lives. We are especially grateful to Brick for giving us this memory which we’ll treasure forever.

2008 year of a million dream I think? Ex-wife and I were wearing the bride/groom ears and walking into MK down Main St. a CM approached us. We were in a car behind the family that got to stay the night in the dream suite. It was fun and they gave us embroidered Mickey ears.

We did a keys to the kingdom tour yesterday and our guide picks people for this. She said if a cast member comes up to you and starts a conversation the key is for the guest to chat with the cast member and if you continue to engage with the cast member picking for the day you have a good chance of them selecting you. Of course it is kind of random with them coming up to you. She said they do kind of watch you for a bit before approaching you. Your group has to be less than 9 people to fit in the car too. But it mainly is luck plus engagement on the families part.
