I'm just starting to research DLR (I'm a WDW vet) and I was wondering if I could have opinions :) first on the hotel itself, and on how much farther of a walk the Grand Legacy is compared to Best Western. It's so hard to tell when looking at maps! I'm so undecided...

We're a party of 2 adults in their 40's and will be arriving in the evening- staying 3 nights/2 park days

TIA

The Grand Legacy is maybe two or three minutes farther to walk than BWPPI, so not bad at all. I haven't stayed at BWPPI, yet (booked for next May) but we were at the Grand Legacy this past June. The rooms there feel very small, and the bathrooms don't have separate vanities, so it was tough getting four females ready in the morning.

Do you know which room type you stayed in? I'm planning on staying here in March with my family of 5, so your comments worried me a bit.

BWPPI is closer (not a lot but at the end of the day, it totally counts) and has an amazing breakfast.
GL is cheaper and has recently upgraded rooms.

So, I'd say whatever of those features is more important to you. Given the choice, we'd pick BWPPI over GL.

We had the Classic room with two double beds, so not the most expansive of rooms, to be sure.

Thanks! Looks like the classic rooms are about 100sq ft smaller than the premier room that I have reserved. Still debating between the premier room with a roll away or a parlor suite at DI&S. I don't love DI&S, but the extra space is nice. Decisions, decisions, I guess I have about 6 months to change my mind about 40,000 times going back and forth between the two...

We have stayed at the Grand Legacy for several years, we always get the rooms with two Queen beds (the Deluxe). We are a family of four (two 40 somethings and two teens. We always get a roll-away bed and have plenty of space to move around. The walk isn't too bad. BWPPI is a bit closer, but we have never stayed there. We love the pool at the Grand Legacy, plus they offer complimentary Wi-Fi which is hard to find in the area. Not to mention you get a snack bag in the morning (it replaced the continental breakfast which we miss) it usually has cheese, an apple, granola bar, and a water.

We will be staying at the Grand Legacy in October for our trip, where do you get these snack bags? It isn't a continental breakfast but it does sound like a good breakfast!

Last time I was there, they were handing out the bags in the little building by the pool

We love the Grand Legacy! It depends on what room type for the size. They have a mix of older and newer buildings. The walk is not bad at all. The pool is awesome. Love that they have the food places out front too. I have a small list of hotels I look into when booking a trip and the grand legacy is on that list.
