For any grand gathering meal does everyone in your party have to be onsite to do the meal or excursion. For instance we are meeting up with several families (20 in all) and all but one family are onsite. Can the off-site family be included too or is it strictly for onsite?

Thanks!

Onsite guests only. :guilty: We've had magical gatherings sized groups our last 4 trips, lol, and on one of them my parents stayed offsite and weren't able to be included because there wern't onsite guests.

Thank you. What a bummer. I thought that would be the case but just wanted to check with someone who had experience with it.

Thanks again.

Slightly wrong. For a GG you must have at least 8 people staying in a Disney Resort and at least 80% of the group must be staying at a Disney Resort. Likewise, each function of the GG must meeet the 8/80% rule. The rule was made this way so people with friends or relatives in the WDW area could attend. This means if you have 15 people attending a GG event, three of them can be included in the GG and staying off property.

I, and my late wife, have participated in several GGs with friends and/or relatives and were included in the GG and received our own event confirmations even though we were living locally and commuting.
