Grand Gatherings how to do it?

Our family is thinking of doing a Grand Gathering with our family and
my DH 2 brothers and there families.

There will be 5 adults and 3 older kids 11-13 years old.

I have never planned such a big group Vacation.
How would I go about doing it?

We already know where we would like to stay but on
the Disney planning site you can't find out how much
a vacation package would cost because whenever you
put in how many people in your party it says there are to
many people in your party.

When you call to make your reservations, let them know that you are a Grand Gathering. This website has the "extras" that you can get!

On a side note, we have done the Good Morning Gathering at Tony's (EXCELLENT) and the Magical Gatherings Fireworks Voyage (EXCELLENT, as well). The t-shirts are beautiful and are made of the heavier t-shirt material. They really stand out in a crowd. There were 12 of us in our family group.

You are paying for your rooms, tickets, and any of the extras that you do. There is no additional charge for being part of a Grand Gathering. Is that what you mean?

You need to put in individual rooms for the individual families. You can't have 5 adults and 3 kids in one room, so break it down into families and go from there. You do not get a special discout for being a GG.

So Calulate seperately the add all packages together for total.
How to make ADRs for 8, all will be on the DDP on separate packages do I make the ADRs for just my Family and they have
to make them for there family and hope we can get to eat at the same time?

You can make them all together so that you are seated together. We had 4 seperate families, but I made ADR's for 12 people.

Yea we did a grand gathering this past august. You have to call the grand gatherings number and then book all your rooms together so that everyone is on the grand gatherings number. as far as booking the ADR's, I booked for 13 ppl and when you get to the restaurant each family will have to give the waiter their own KTTW card and have their meals taken off. I will warn you though....each family will get an automatic 18% gratuitiy on their bill.

we did the safari dinner package and it was ok. The animals were all sleeping during the safari and we didnt see many.

We also did the fireworks voyage. I wouldnt recommend it. I think its too much money for what you get. The view was amazing for the fireworks though.

Our GG was July 2006. We had 10 adults and 4 children in 5 rooms. I coordinated the trip and used a AAA travel agent to assist. The TA booked our package and made the GG reservation for the MK fireworks cruise (those need to be made by the person/entity that actually books the trip). I was able to make all of our ADRs myself for the entire group. We did not have DDP, so just took turns paying the check (aka mom & dad paid except when one of the rest of us could ask for the check on the sly and sneak in a payment).
My parents were paying for the rooms so my mother paid via cc with the TA and the rest of us gave her checks for the tickets part of the package. We all received our travel documents at our own homes.
