Grand Gatherings -- can we use DDP?

There are 9 in our party and we are going to WDW in April. We qualify as a GG group. Does anyone know if we can use our DDP credits towards any of the special offerings like the breakfast at Tony's or the dinner in AK?

And I tried to search for this answer on the DIS, but the search page is blank! Doh!

When we went in 2005 we were not allowed to apply the dining plan to Grand Gathering events but that may have changed.

I won't share our Grand Gathering experience because it really made me angry with Disney both before and during our trip. Let me just say, we won't Grand Gather again! I hope things go much better for your Gathering.

We will be a Grand Gathering. The CM I made my reservations with on Wednesday, said you can use the DDP, but it is two TS credits per person.

What happened ? We are going as a grand gathering in February. Did they charge extra or were there any hidden costs. I really don't care if our hotel rooms aren't side by side. My TA booked us as a grand gathering. I hope I won't be dissapointed.

I too was wondering went went wrong, if you don't mind just telling us a little bit.

We already had one thing a little disappointing happen, and that was that for some reason the CM forgot to do both our rooms as preferred locations. I told the CM we wanted that, but she missed that. That is one of the things we really wanted since we are relatives and wanted the kids to be able to play together. When I tried yesterday to fix it, I couldn't because there were no preferred rooms left at ASMu for our dates. (one family got preferred location and the other one she didn't do as preferred location)

I guess I will have to keep trying. I couldn't believe that November dates are all full for preferred locations.

Yes, we used DDP last trip for GG. A few of them were two credits...we did the Illuminations and Fantasmic Packages. The Illuminations were two credits and the Fantasmic (at Mama Melrose) was only one. HTH
