My family (dh, me, our 5 girls and dfil and dmil) are planning to go to WDW this September. (my girls get a fall break then from school.) We are hoping to get the free dining unless a 30 or 40% code comes out in our name. (nothing so far.) I have booked all our adr's and am just waiting for the offical announcement of the free dining to book our 2 rooms at a hotel and get our tickets.

I was wondering though since there are 9 of us (and my sister and her dd have been maybe talking about joining us for a few days), am I better of doing the Grand Gathering? We really don't want to do all the extra cost things for a Grand Gathering, but I like the idea of them trying to get our rooms closer. Can you call the Grand Gathering phone number and still get free dining when and if it comes out? Or should I just not fool with that and just call the regular number and make a ressie for 2 rooms?

I would call and make a GG. If and when free dining comes out you and your family will be able to take full advantage! You will also have a better chance of getting the rooms close to one another.

Another added advantage of a GG is if you are the coordinator you have full control over all reservations. So if free dining comes out you will be able to change all the reservations under the GG to free dining! If you don’t have a GG, then each party will be responsible for changing their own reservation!

Good luck and have fun!
