Grand Gathering

My Wife and i have been to Disney 4 out of the last 5 years! Every year i have begged my family to go with us and got some lame excuses why they could not go. So since i was planning our 08 trip i thought i would ask again. They have all decided to go this time! Hoo- Ray for us. Since this time it is going to be a grand gathering. There will be 7 adults and 1 4yr old and a 1 year old on the trip. We are looking forward to my 4 yr old nephew's first trip. My sister made the mistake of telling him that we were going to Mickey's house already because he asks everyday when they are leaving. Now i want some suggestions on what we should do as a group? Anything special that is a must do?

Have you set-up your group as a "Grand Gathering"? This will enable you to link you resort reservations IF you want to be close together.

I would highly recommend the Grand Gathering Safari Celebration Dinner. We loved it!

These events are designed for large groups and have lots of interaction for the kids and grown-ups!

Are you all going to be on the dining plan? I am a huge character meal fan and would highly recommend Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, O'hana's Best Friends Breakfast at the Polynesian, The Garden Grill at Epcot and Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom.

Character meals make for great memories and pictures! The kids love them and it cuts down on the amount of time you spend wait in lines to meet characters.

I would recommend establishing some "ground rules" for your group. Remember that you are going to blending different touring styles and want to keep everyone happy! Just make sure everyone has realistic expectations and don't try to keep everyone together all of the time. It is too stressful!!!
