Grand Gathering ?

Ok, I know that a grand gathering is for 8 or more in a party, but what exactly are the benefits? Can't really find anything on the DW site about it. Why do they make such a big deal about GG when I call? Such as, oh I can't help you with that request since you are having a GG I'll have to transfer you. What's that all about? Anyone know anything about GG's?

We are a Grand Gatheing Group of eight going in Feb. 2008. I have been told we will have the following benefits: 1. Our three rooms will be close together, 2. our requests for rooms will be placed at the top of the assignment list, 3. when making our dinning reservations through Grand Gathering we will either get a table of 8 or two tables of 4 close to each other. In addition can participate in special dinning experiences with characters such as the Internatiional Illuminations Dinner, Safari Dinner, Fireworks Vovage, etc.. You call Grand Gatherings, give them your request, and they make the reservations. Hope this helps some. It is information I have gather from several calls duing the past month.

We did a GG last December and have rebooked for this December. There are 21 of us, 7 rooms.
If you are all staying at the same resort (not required) then they pre-block your rooms. This gets them as close as possible.

You do get access to some special activities and dining.

Since w have 21 people, we have to use Group Dining, which is seperate from GG, and that guarantees us 1 table or all the tabls will be next to each other. There are limited seats, and times at each restaurant.
