grand gathering at AKL room question?

i have a question- i'll be at the AKL for 6 nites- savannah room. my bro in law is coming in for our last 3 nites- he has a pool view. i called grand gatherings to link us. what exactly will this mean for the rooms. they said they keep you near each other but he's pool, i'm savannah. are there good savannah views near pool views??
any ideas on this -

In general, the GG# keeps it so that the family is near by. If you guys are in seperate types of rooms (Savannah vs Pool) you may be put in the same wing. If you were in the same room types you'd be given preferential locations, either connecting or adjoining rooms.

Do you have a map of AKL? I would think if they were to put you together then they would be on the front side of the Zebra Trail overlooking the pool and you would be across the hall on the Savannah. This is a great location, in my opinion, because you will be in one of the first 3 sections due to their pool view which is closer to the main lobby.

Although I don't know much about the Savannah view, you would be above Mara, the arcade, Simba's Cub House, the laundry and of course, near the pool. There are two elevators in this wing and the jutting out section actually has first floor rooms if you're interested.

Just request the Zebra trail with rooms across the hall from each other for this location and possibly a floor preference, although not guaranteed, of course. The room #'s are 2407-5437 and 1456-5486 for the jutting section with the first number being the floor level. Hope that helps and enjoy your stay!

No problem, that's what we're here for!

I'm no Savannah expert but I hear the 3rd or 4th floors are best for viewing. The 3rd floor is the same as the lobby. We stayed on the 4th floor (and had to go down one flight to get anywhere, only one sloooow elevator on this side) overlooking the Sunset Savannah which was mostly birds.

I believe the Arusha has zebras but the Uzima (where the jutting our section would overlook) has giraffes or vice versa. I'm pretty sure we saw giraffes from the pool/spa area at the end of that jutting out section. <-- There's gotta be a better name for that section! LOL Someone else will have to confirm that.

AKL is a great resort! Be sure to eat at Boma, my favorite restaurant in the World!!

You will love the AKL! My guess would be that you would be across the hall from each other on the same floor if possible. Your brother should upgrade to savannah view though. It is sooooooooooooooooo worth it!

we stayed there before and did love it! our first nite is concierge so we can do the sunrise safari, then 5 nites in savannah. concierge has been amazingly helpful and i want to call today to reconfirm everything - we leave wedn.
we love boma too!

any other recommendations- i have two animal loving kids 9 & 6, plus our niece and nephew 5 & 6
