Grand Floridian vs Contemporary

We are going on our honeymoon in October and spending time at Disney before our Disney cruise. Originally we had a club level room at Contemporary. I saw a club level room at the Grans Floridian open up under the fall special and grabbed it! My fiancé really wanted to stay at the Contemporary but I feel like the Grand Floridian is better for a honeymoon. Any and all good things you can tell me to relay to him might help! :)

Best tip : From now own, the lady decides !

Outside of that, I much prefer the Contemporary because of the easy access to MK by foot. I never liked the ‘feel’ of the GF and find the added grandeur to be fake. So I can’t help you.

I have stayed at both and both my husband and myself prefer GF. It is a pretty resort. Contemporary is not. There is service at the GF pool. We didn't see any waiters at the CR pool and there were very few pool umbrellas. Contemporary is downright unattractive in many places, in our opinions. This is of course all a matter of opinion. The walkway is a bonus, but we went in the summer and it was really too hot to use it. There is no shade. I prefer Gasparilla's to the Contempo Cafe as well. GF wins hands down for us in every department but price.

They're both perfect for honeymooners. Enjoy each other's company and don't let the surroundings dictate otherwise.
Tip: stay at the cheaper one.
Congratulations!

Personally I would stay at the one your Fiance had his heart set on - Contemporary

Thanks everyone! We are going to stay at Grand Floridian. He never had his heart set on the Contemporary for any reason in particular...just the one he liked the best of what was available. He isn’t a Disney fan in any way. Just loves me enough to make my honeymoon dreams come true.

I think you made the right choice! They're both very nice, but the contemporary is showing its age in a lot of areas. The GF is beautiful throughout, so y'all will love it!

Honestly, they are both great for a honeymoon. It just depends on personal taste. For instance my boyfriend and I don't care much for the decor inside the GF rooms (even though the resort is gorgeous). We much prefer the Contemporary rooms and the way they feel modern while also comfortable (plus they're huge!).

Since both are on the monorail, you will have the opportunity to visit whatever one you dont choose and take advantage of dining at both resorts. So I would just consider which has the best price and which aesthetic is most in line with both your tastes. If he did like the Contemporary, I suggest planning a fireworks time dinner at California Grill. He'll be happy he got to visit the resort and youll enjoy a delicious romantic dinner with the best view on property.
