We're trying to work out the details of doing a night on the platinum plan at the beginning of our stay. We're thinking of staying at the Poly for the 1st night, before we move to BWV. We're hoping to eat at Victoria & Albert's during the second seatings, so sometime between 9-9:45. The resort monorail won't still be running that late, will it?

The Resort Monorail runs from 7am until 2 hours after the Magic Kingdom and Epcot close;whichever is later.
You could always walk to the GF from the Poly as an option.

Watch out about relying on taking the monorail from resort to resort after the park closes. We stayed at BLT on our last trip and went to go to look around the other hotels on the monorail late one night, and a CM asked us at every stop where we were going and where we were staying. They said that some times when it seems there are no more riders, they stop the monorail, and they want to make sure that everyone knows before they get stuck at a different hotel then their own.
But yes you could always walk if they monorail is done for the night.

Make sure you dress warmly, if you might be walking from the GF to the Poly late on a January night. There are places along that walk where the wind comes whipping straight across the lagoon.

There's also the taxi option. The resorts are so close that it would likely be around $5.

Thanks. If we don't switch to the 1st seating, we'll just plan on getting a taxi. Walking at midnight in January, wearing a dress & heels & after all that wine, just doesn't sound like much fun. ;)

The Resort Monorail runs at least 2 hours after the Magic Kingdom has closed and even longer if they are having PM Extra Magic Hours, so look and see the hours for the Magic Kingdom on the night you plan to eat at Victoria & Albert's. Now let's say you take the Resort Monorail it will stop at the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and TTC before it arrives at the Polynesian, so it might be faster using the walkway from the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian.

As a PP said, it's 2 hours after the later of Epcot or MK, and on a January night that will likely be Epcot, so it should be 11 p.m., which may be earlier than the OP gets out of V&A.
