Grand Floridian Tea

Every bit worth it. The food is delightful and the service is very nice. You'll be quite pleased and enjoy it thoroughly!

I love going to the Tea. There is a good selection of teas, and the food is very good. My last few visits I've gotten the Buckingham Palace which is your tea, a selection of tea sandwiches, scones with jam and Deconshire cream, and then your choice of either strawberries with fresh whipped cream or a selection of pasteries. My mouth is watering just writing about it.
The tea is brought out in a pot with the tea leaves in the bottom, and you are given a strainer to put over your cup so the tea leaves do not get in your cup. You can have more hot water added to your if you want more tea. Our waitress put tea cozies over our tea pots to help keep them warm.
You are given plenty of time to enjoy yourself, no one rushes you.
In case you have not read about it here is a link to Deb Wills for the menu.

What kind of sandwiches do they have with the Buckingham? We're thinking of doing the tea when we are down there.

I loved this relaxing "down time" with my 2 daughters. It was so perfectly lovely. My girls even dressed up in dresses, gloves and froo-froo hats (ages 10 and 6)!! We loved being waited on so graciously. Worth the money! :snooty: :rose: ;)

Very girly, but so much fun. The food is great and everything is just sooo elegant. I can't wait till next year when we'll be staying at the GF with my mom on our girl's only trip. This is one of our must do's.

Hi,

Love the tea!! Can't wait to go again in December!

Loved it and I plan on doing it every trip now. Go for it, you will not be disappointed.

It sounds lovely! What do people usualy wear for this?

Hubby and I loved it. We just tried it for the first time this past spring. Excellent.

I had the grand tea selection and hubby had the prince edward selection. We shared off each others plates. LOL..it was all delicious.

I wore capris and a nice top/sandals. Hubby a nice short outfit.
Most people wore the same. Nobody real dressed up.
A couple people in park attire.

Thankyou all so very much for all the good advice. We will definitely do the tea at the FG. Does anyone know if you need a priority seating reservaton?

A PS is recommended, they have 3 seating times. I have done the tea during the summer and the end of September when it is a slower period. Both times there was plenty of seatings. I would say that if you do not want to make a PS go during week, Saturdays and Sundays seem to be busier. If your group is a large group I would make a PS just to be on the safe side.

The sandwiches served included an egg salad, cucumber and water cress, pear and gorgonzola, and there is a 4th I can't remember.

*squeal*! we're going for the first time on our upcoming trip and I cannot wait. Did anyone try the Sally Lund tea? i think that's the name, the bread sounds heavenly!
