Grand Floridian Tea

DH and I were at a GF Tea early June. ANd I booked again for this coming Saturday! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I think he could just eat nothing but their fresh strawberries and real whipped cream and be perfectly happy. :cloud9:

What is in the sandwiches?
Hi
We had the tea last Oct. They had a shimp salad sandwich, pear and watercress, egg salad, chicken salad and I don't remember the rest. If you don't like one kind, ask to replace it with another. This was so much fun and really relaxing after a morning walking around the park. My girlfriend and I (girl's only trip) had the buckingham and you get the flavored tea of your choice, sandwiches, scones with devonshire cream and jam, a little fruit tart and a choice of pastries, strawberries and whipped cream or trifle for dessert. We both chose the trifle. It's cake with pudding, fruit and whipped cream. It was delicious. It was enough to eat for us as a lunch. Our ADR was 2:00. Then we had a sit down dinner. I would definitely do the tea again!!! Have fun! I'll be at WDW in 4 days!!!

Tea is wonderful, though I do think the quality has slid over the past few years. DW and I used to go and you had no problem getting a seating...it was not very popular. In the past however many years or so since they started taking ADRS, it is harder to get a space, and the food quality was so-so. I think the issue we had last time is our seating was for 4:00pm, and the sandwiches were obviously made at the beginning of the service period, so they were starting to get dry. This time in November we are going at 2:00pm, so I think that will be less of an issue. DS4 LOVES to go to tea, and has requested we go this time as well. We usually get the Buckingham, and he gets Mrs. Potts tea, with PB&J only. Makes for a great afternoon for us.

We went in December and it was fabulous! We all had such a great time, even my DH who thought it was was going to be too "girly". The trifle was TDF!!!

Afternoon Tea at the GF is a yearly tradition for our WDW vacation. We absolutely love it - even my DH. It is a calming and relaxing time away from the hustle & bustle of the parks. Just can't imagine Disney without tea and the strawberry trifle is to die for.

If you've done a real tea at one of the nicer London hotels, you will be disappointed in the GF's version. Instead of the 3 tiered service, they bring each dish out on separate plates. The sandwiches are also somewhat dry, especially compared to the ones we had in our teas at the UK, and the scones & cream don't even compare.
If you've never done tea before, you will probably like it there.
Cheers!
Heather W
