I am a GF newbie and know very little about its' layout. I have a garden view room and understand, I think, all the buildings have garden view rooms. My question is, does the main building have them, too? If so, would it not be best to try to request a room in it or would one of the other buildings be better? It doesn't look like it's too big of a property, but I have a DD6 so I would like to be close to all of the main stuff. Thanks for you help.

The main building is all concierge. Lobby is the first floor. Gift Shops/Monorail is second, 3rd, 4th, and 5th are concierge rooms.

Also to add, in my personal opinion and having stayed in several buildings there, Sago Cay (building 5) is my favorite. Close to the food, not too far to the monorail, and short walk by taking the side route to the monorail.

I have had MK View Twice.........only time I have stayed Garden I had Boca Chica.

The garden view rooms in Sago either face the marina (which you may still catch a glimpse of the MK) or the other side faces the small cove in which you can see the monorail.

If you have a GV room reserved then you can only request the following buildings: Big Pine Key, Boca Chica, Conch Key and Sago Cay. The Main Building and Sugar Loaf Key both house Club Level rooms only.

They are all gorgeous and pretty much equidistant from the action. Big Pine Key would probably be nearest the themed waterfall pool and the main building; Sago would be closest to Gasparilla Grill ("food court"); Boca Chica and Conch Key are right by the boat dock.

Have fun!

I would recommend "going with the Magic"; don't request a building b/c you will read these boards and change your mind - again and again! Then you'll waste energy on worrying about whether or not you'll be granted your request. If not, you may begin your vacation on a negative note... It's not worth it!
If you've never stayed there, then just see what you get. Chances are, you'll fall in love:cloud9:

I also would not make a request. I think all the Garden view rooms are nice. Also if you make a request, you might miss out on an upgrade. Not saying you will get one, but making a request does limit it.

At times Garden View rooms are over sold, and they have to move a few guests to a lagoon view room. If they see you wanted Sago Cay and they have no lagoon view rooms there, they move on to another guest that is happy to take any location.

Thank you for your replies. It sounds like all of the buildings will be great. It's funny, I had pretty much decided not to make a room request for all of those reasons so you guys just hlped me to confirm it!! Now that I have my room res. set, my ADR's have been made (for a while), I can just sit back and count the days! Of course, I'm still working on park strategies, I don't want to be planned to the minute, but I want to get the most out of our trip being our first time and it wil probably be a while before we get to go back!

Thanks again!

I was in the Big Pine Key and my room was beautiful and I could see Wishes fireworks from my room.
