Looking into booking at the NEWEST DVC resort. I do not understand about the pull down bunk bed. Can anyone lend in? We have a family of 4 and would like the possibility of having my two children in separate sleeping "BEDS". We have liked this when we stayed in a one bedroom with the pull out chair. Is it similar to this?

Thanks!!

Not like the twin sized sleeper chair. It's more like the murphy bed at POR which is a bit larger than crib sized (a bit longer, a bit wider), but not as big as twin sized. It will work for a small kid.

Here is a photo of the pull down bed at VGF. The bar you see in the photo swings down and gives more support to the bed.

Thanks, pic is worth a thousand words!!! My 9 yr old will most likely be to big for this! Thanks for the info!

My 11 year old (about 5 ft tall) fit on the one at VGC just fine, and the VGF ones are modeled after the VGC ones, so unless the one at VGF is smaller... or your 9 yo is super tall, they should like the bed.

My DS(11) said it was really comfy.

I'm fairly certain they are the same pull down as at VGC. Plenty big. My eight year old fit on it with two feet of room to spare, a month ago...

If the same as Aulani, my 12 (almost 13 year old) who is 5 ft 6 inches fit comfortably.

I am almost 6 feet and a little short for me but I could squeeze in if necessary.

That said it is very narrow, so if very broad it may not be comfortable.

I have been told that the bed in the model is representive of what will be in the units when they are completed. In fact everything in the model is subject to change.

Good point. AKV's furnishings changed quite a bit from what was initially shown in the model rooms, for the better in that case.

I do not like the location. Feel like the TV is on top of the bed-I am sure it is secure but still -eery to look at/

My 8 year old (big for her age) slept on it and loved it. In fact, my 2 girls were fighting over who would sleep there. Its really cute.

The TV is quite secure.
the black bar that is above the mattress in the picture actually folds down below to support the bed on the floor (not a "anti-roll-out" bar)

My 9 year old son is a BIG kid... He is about 5' tall and 110 pounds. He comfortably slept in this bed and loved it. It was much easier to make/pack-up than the pull-out.

My 10 year old slept on it. It was plenty large enough for him. My 12 and 15 year olds could have used it as well. I'd say it is a real bed for anyone 5'6" and under, although it is narrower than a standard twin bed.

Does anyone know if the Poly will have the Murphy bed?

They have not released any specific information on rooms, not even the number. There was a rumor that it will be studios only, plus the water rooms.

The existing Poly rooms are huge by DVC standards so I would guess they will be able to sleep 5 in a studio. We stayed in Tahiti in October and it had two queens, a sofa bed thing and a table and chairs and still had space. AND tons of storage space.
