Hello....need some help. Have booked room at Grand Floridian for late Oct. for wife and myself. Booked Theme Park View, but after reading I am confused. Will that be a Castle View? Are there other views of the park that are considered Theme Park? Is it possible to request a certain view or a certain room?

This is a surprise for wife and really want to make it perfect. Any other suggestions or pointers for a first time visitor would be appreciated.

you will get a theme park view which could be space mountain or other views of the park. I would call in and add the reqeust that you want to be able to see the Castle if thats what you are looking for.

Thanks! Do I stand a better chance of a Castle view if I request certain buildings? Should I contact the resort directly or go through the reservation number?

Trying to make this as special as possible, since no kids on this trip. And never stayed at GF before. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Personally, I would request the Sago Cay building. It's by the marina and sort of off the beaten path. That means a little bit longer walk to the beach and pools, but you'll get almost no foot traffic by the building either. The theme park view rooms are right on the edge of the water and you can also see the monorail whisking by.

I would go through the reservation number and have it added on as a request. Typically, the resort will not see your reservation until about 4 days prior to arrival. You can try calling then, just to reiterate your request. Unfortunately, even when you call the direct number though, your call is going to be sent through a call answering service.

Unless you are going during a very busy time of year, the GF doesn't usually pre-assign rooms. You can ask about availability of a specific view when you check-in. Arriving early, can mean a higher number of rooms to select from. You may have to wait a little while for the "perfect" room, but bell services will hold onto your luggage and you can head to the park or relax at the resort.

You may want to consider a private dining experience while you're at the GF. It sounds expensive, but it's really no more than a signature restaurant meal and you get all the privacy you want. A few weeks before your vacation, you can give the private dining department a call and see what locations are available. They do a lovely job and it's truly special.

If you are planning any down time at the resort, you can check out the spa for a couples massage. There are also private cabana's available for rental by the theme pool. You can reserve for the 1/2 day or full day. There are lounge cabana chairs for two on the beach, which you can relax on in the evening and have private dining bring out some wine/cheese & crackers or some champagne and strawberries. If you want flowers, you can check out the www.disneyflorist.com for some beautiful arrangements that will last your entire trip. Good luck with all your planning.

Spent 2 weeks at GF last December and had a wonderful time. We stayed Concierge in the main building.
It was both our 60th birthdays and they located us with a direct view of the castle, we could also watch the MK fireworks at night. It was a wonderful suprise to open our curtains and see the amazing view.

Wherever you are you will have a wonderful time
