We will be staying at the GF in a GV room for 9 nights with our 3 children under 4. Does anyone have any suggestions for a building and/or room number that would give us a nice view?

All of the garden views at the GF are very nice and you'll have either a patio or balcony. The only room you probably want to make sure you don't receive is a dormer room. They have a smaller, solid balcony.

You might be a little more interested in location of the building, so I'll give you a quick run down:

SagoCay: furthest walk to the pools, beach and boat dock, closest to main building (Gasparillas Grill 24 hour counter service), quiet building, garden views will include seeing the monorail go by your balcony ~ could be fun for little ones.

ConchKey: furthest from the main building (bus stop & monorail), closest to the boat dock, 2nd furthest from the pools and beach, quiet building

Boca Chica: convenient location, central to everything, courtyard pool is right outside the building entrance (pool is open 24 hours, so sitting on your balcony in the evening, might be a little noisy)

Big Pine Key: convenient location, central to everything, courtyard pool is close to the buildings front entrance (pool is open 24 hours, so sitting on your balcony in the evening, might be a little noisy)

The resort is nicely spread out, but not too big. The total walk between the 2 furthest points is probably no more than 3 or 4 minutes. A little secret is to request a corner room. They are usually a little bit bigger and offer 2 balconies. Because they're on the end of the building, you might get a bit of a water view also.

I'd suggest Sago Cay with a monorail view. Those rooms look out over a small finger of the lagoon and toward the monorail. It is very quiet and restful, but still has the fun of the monorail and waving at folks as they go by (at a long distance). It is also close to the main building and the entrance to Gasparilla Grill. There is a short-cut around the end of the building past the Convention center to the bus stops that is much shorter than going through the building too. When it rains, you only have a few steps to the main building and you'll be undercover of the porch to get to the lobby and restaurants. Hope this helps.

My suggestion is also Sago Cay but marina view (still gv price). We loved watching the boats and the water, and especially a family of ducks that was always walking by. We really liked the location of this building, because with three kids it was nice to be close to Gasparillas (refill mugs) and we used to get ice cream at night and sit at the tables and chairs by the marina and watch the fireworks. It was great. It's really not a very long walk to the pools or monorail either.
