Grand Floridian Cafe? Worth a TS credit?

Believe it or not, DS(11) would like to eat somewhere inside GF....Totally surprised me as he is not a "when in doubt, pinky out"/fancy pants kinda guy.
However, fine with me, if the food is o.k. Not sure if we would do lunch or dinner, need to look over our park schedule and see what works....but kids have already decided to do CM and CP character meals, so they were not interested in the character options, and we would rather not use 2 TS for Narcoose's or V and A's...how is the service speed, slower?

Thanks for any reviews...

We love the GF Cafe. Food and service are both good and the room is so pretty.

We used a TS credit there this month for lunch.

I have been here four times now. Ince for lunch, twice for dinner. The last time was for breakfast this last December.
The food at dinner has been decent to very good. They make a good hamburger but it is not always on the dinner menu.
Lunch was good.
Breakfast was excellent. Everyone loved what they had. The atmosphere is casual but still a bit elegant, bright and cheerful.

We have been several times and have enjoyed it very much. They have small desserts sized so you can get two! :thumbsup2

I would argue that the Grand Floridian Cafe is the best Lunch restaurant in all of WDW.

We are staying at the GF in December. Do we need ADR for breakfast in the cafe? I'm hoping we can stop in and have b'fast before heading out to the parks -- or will I need to make reservations? Thanks.

You might want to have them just to be safe. But if you're in early Dec the need is a bit lower.

Ohhh now there's a restaurant you don't always think of! Adding it to my list... Thanks

We went for lunch last time and will do it again. I LOVED strolling around the GF in the afternoon, hence why I like it for lunch instead of dinner. My favorite entree of our whole trip came from GF Cafe--pan seared talapia w/ mango sticky rice! YUM! The staff was very friendly and attentive. "Elegant, bright, and cheerful" is a very good description!!
