I'm having a hard time finding dining options for our last night, which will be spent at Magic Kingdom. I'd love to end our trip at BOG but it's been hard to get a reservation -- big surprise, I know. :rotfl: What makes it more difficult is that we are a party of 6, including a 2.5 year old so I like to get early reservations, around 5:30.

In the meantime I'd at least like to have something booked as a backup. I'm not finding much at MK so I think it would be easiest to dine at one of the resorts on the monorail line. I'm seeing reservations at both Grand Floridian Cafe and The Wave (Contemporary)-- what are your opinions?

Both are actually pretty good, and for non-signatures, some of the better ones. The Wave is a bit expensive, but the food quality is pretty high. I actually haven't done dinner at either, but I've done lunch at both, and it looks like the menu isn't too different.

I like the Wave more, but I certainly wouldn't turn down GFC. Either should be enjoyable; just depends what on the menu is more interesting to you.

While the GF Cafe is good, we prefer The Wave. Plus, you can walk to the Contemporary from MK, which we always prefer to do.

We prefer Grand Floridian Café. We have only done breakfast at The Wave and it was good, don't get me wrong, but it seemed more like any family restaurant we could go to at home.

REALLY hard to choose between the two. They have the best two steaks on property for a non-signature restaurant IMO. The beef tenderloin at the Wave is the best (IMO), followed close by the charred strip steak at the GF Café.

Of the two, I think we would hit the wave first. I would look at the menus and see which appeals to you. The GF café has a really cool desert sampler. Attached are photos of the steak and the dessert samples at GF café (sorry, don't have a photo handy of the tenderloin at the Wave) GFC1.jpg GFC2.jpg

I ate at both last year for dinner and much preferred The Wave- simply for better quality, fresher food.

Wow! Boy am I happy to read these replies!:cool1: I was thinking I'd get replies like "no way, go somewhere else" or "you're better off at Tony's Town Square in MK". So happy to hear both are great choices for the last night of our stay. I'm going to to try and book The Wave!

Just be aware and prepared , they are more of a typical restaurant atmosphere. Not really specially themed.

I have not eaten at either. However, I will be making an ADR for GFC. My daughter (17 at the time of the visit) and my son (13 at the time of the visit) are anxious to try the Grand Floridian burger. Nowhere around here can we get a burger topped with butter poached lobster.

We like both, but prefer The Wave slightly over GFC for food. Here would be another great option leaning towards The Wave too...you are going to be at MK, transportation options to GF, boat or Monorail, both can be sketchy if you are on time restraint. The Wave, 10 min walk from MK gateand you are there

We have eaten at both and will be dining at both again this fall. I love going on the Monorail or by boat for dinner then heading to MK for the evening. The last time we ate at the Wave my daughter had just turned one and they sat us in Siberia! Ha! I didn't blame them :stitch2:
