Grand Floridian Cafe, adding one to party?

We have a party of 6 for dinner at 6pm on a Sunday in March. Some friends have an adult child in the DCP who MIGHT be able to join us. If I change the reservation to 7 people, the only available opening is at 5pm which makes things potentially a little tight with our arrival time. Flying in that day.

Question: Do you think GFC can accommodate an extra person at 6pm in the event the college kid can make it?
Or take earlier reservations time with fingers crossed for no delays on arrival?
Or ditch the whole the and take college kid to Gasparilla?

Thank you

Are there any other restaurants in the MK monorail area that have a reservation for 7 open? You could also try making a reservation for 1 or 2 around the same time as your GF reservation and then asking at check-in if they can seat you all together.

I think what you really need is a firm commitment from the college kid. I wouldn't go to the trouble of changing my plans because the college kid MIGHT attend. It's only common curtesy to let you know one way or the other.

Not joking, I don’t know why this didn’t even cross my mind! 🤔 I think cause reservations are made kind of far in advance but the DCP only schedules two weeks out. Or something like that
Thanks for the reality check!
