Still Trying!
We are still calling daily to get an AP rate at GF for mid Dec. Still no luck. We need 6 nights. Should I give up? We got Poly., but really wanted GF since it's so festive at Christmas. Any advice? Sometimes I feel like the CM isn't trying very hard since we already have Poly. Everytime I call they say the same thing - "Ma'am you already have a ressie @ Poly", like I'm trying to pull a fast one on them. Why the 'tude?

Would like to know if anyone has had any luck booking an AP lately and/or if they have encountered this situation before. Thanks

Hang in there & keep trying, if that's what you really want...you never know. Don't let their attitude get to you...that's what they're trying to do.

Maybe don't mention right away that you have a reservation. We did get AP rates but for early December plus we also had to give up one night so we cut it to 5 nights instead of 6.

I have tried not telling them right away that I have a ressie but once they ask for my phone number and zip they seem to have my life history along with all the ressies I have set up. I guess you could give them a different phone number but I don't think they should care whether you have a ressie or not. You are calling to try to better the rate you were quoted. Keep calling until you get someone who seems to care. Also, try splitting up your stay with a few days at a discounted rate and the rest rack if they have a few of your dates but not all available.

I really think it is the CM you happen to get.

Yesterday I did the exact same thing you are trying to do.... changed from the Poly to the GF in September. (In fact I have done it several times and been successful)

I simply told them that we had Poly Reservations, however, my wife really wanted to go to the GF. I asked the CM to please not cancel the POLY before we are assured the GF. They access the existing POLY reservation and checked on the GF for the same days.

On the first three calls there was no availabililty. However, on the fourth try, a wonderful CM, combined days...looked at adding on both ends, etc.... I bet he spent 5 minutes looking at all scenarios and he found what we wanted. He really seemed genuinely happy that he was able to find it. We also received the AAA rate..no AP rates for our dates

Keep trying. You have some time to until December!

It may help to think that reservations that were made during the AP calling frenzy will need deposits made by September 11 (I believe). Some openings may become available if some deposits aren't paid.

Also, I "bend" the calling a bit when I call to inquire about other rates and such when we are already holding a reservation. I use our cell phone number then it avoids the conversation you have been encountering.

Best of luck. We did get an AP discount during Christmas week, and the room is cheaper than the AP discount we had two years ago during the summer!
