I've been wanting to try GF's Afternoon Tea. Today, we decided to go to MK on 3/28, so I thought this was a good time to give it a try. The CM offered 3 times. I took 5:00 pm. I didn't realize they were open that late. Have any of you eaten that late? Was it as leisurely as other times or did they rush you? Should I call back for an earlier time? I took the latest time thinking it would serve as dinner, but we could go earlier if it would be better. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience. :flower3:

Are you doing the Garden View Lounge tea? I want to do that one and it would be great if I could get it at 5 like you, I'd consider it dinner also:) If this is the one I mentioned, did you have to give them the type you want to do? Thank you, I don't mean to hijack your thread, I am happy to know that you are going to do this, I will want a report when you get back:)

Yes, I asked for Garden View Lounge - Afternoon Tea. The only info I was asked for was the usual ADR info. We're a party of 4, but had to book 2 tables of 2. We'll be fine sitting apart, if they can't set us together. You've convinced me it may be a good idea to call back & double check, since I got a later time than expected.

Please let me know what you find out and I would love to get that time...hopefully, that is a late tea time...perfect for us and for you if that is the correct time:) I can't wait to hear all about it, and oh, please don't forget to take pictures:) This is a secret I am keeping from my little great neice:) I'll tell her that morning:)

Bumping to see, if anyone has been to the afternoon tea this late. I tried to call & confirm our ADR, but finally gave up & hung up. :sad2: I'll try again in the next few days.

It's been a while since we had a late ADR for tea, but the last time we did I was a little disappointed - there weren't as many pastry selections for dessert and they were totally out of trifle. I also thought the scones were a little dried out ... they were being kept warm in a large silver chafing dish and I guess as the afternoon wore on those scones at the bottom of the pile lost some of their moistness.

Please keep in mind that it's been about six years since that particular experience, so it certainly doesn't mean that's what will happen to you when you have your tea. We really enjoy the experience there and it certainly is enough food to qualify as a late lunch or an early dinner.

And be sure to ask if you can have your tea in teapot instead of the French Press - it's just not the same when there are French Presses on the tea table instead of teapots!

Have a lovely time! :goodvibes

I always go to tea when they open at 2pm, I thought the last ADR was for 4:30? I can't see this as being a issue. They might run out of some items and not replenish them since its the end of the tea service. I don't think this will make or break your experience.

Don't worry about the 2 tables of 2, the majority of the tables are small tables of 2 lined around the restaurant. One side is a bench the other is a chair. You'll be sitting practically at the same table. They do have one or two large round tables for 8 and some tables for 4, but mostly tables of 2.

Not all teas are served in a french press. I get the house tea (Garden View Blend) and it's served in a tea pot. The tea list is very long and a bit too indepth for me :rotfl2: To make things easy, I just go with the house blend.

The full tea service (Buckingham Palace) would make a perfect lite dinner. It's a lot of food.

Have fun. It's very relaxing after a day in the parks.

Thank you for reminding me about this. I have always wanted to start this as a new tradition with my daughters. We always try something new each trip, I think this will be it. And we can leave the boys and Daddy in the park!

I called back & they are booked for that day, but my 5:00 pm ADR is correct. Hopefully, we'll still have plenty of choices & fresh pastries.
