We went 1/10, and it was one of the highlights of the trip for me.
The Grand Floridian was doing some renovations on its marble floors, so instead of having the tea at the Garden View Lounge on the the first floor, we had tea at the Citricos location on the second floor.

My husband and 80 year old grandmother came with me.

It was a lovely meal, with a large amount of food. We has reservations at two, and were seated right away. The entire tea took about an hour and a half. The service was good, the ambience was lovely, and it was so nice to have a relaxed break in a fun but busy and (dare I say) stressful week.

My grandmother got the Grand Tea. My husband got the Prince Edward's tea, and I got the Buckingham Palace tea. My grandmother and I shared a large pot of the Russian Earl Grey tea, while my husband tried the Oolong. Our tea was served in 3 courses.

My grandmother loved the sparkling wine, and said that it was good quality, and went well with the tea sandwiches and onion tart, which were the first course. Her tea also came with a piece of pate, which she enjoyed. The variety of sandwiches were Pear and Gorgonzola, Chicken Salad with almond, Shrimp Salad, Cucumber with Cream Cheese and Watercress, and Egg Salad. They were all delicious, with the egg salad having too much raw onion for my taste.

My husband got the gentleman's tea, or Prince Edward's tea. He really enjoyed the Port, as well as the variety of pate with walnuts, gorgonzola and crackers. His serving was very large, and he had trouble finishing it.

The second course was scones with jam and cream. The ladies teas also came with a tasty rasberry tart. I found the scone to be a different from a traditional scone, more like a brioche in texture, but still good. It had raisins in it which I do not enjoy.

The Prince Edward's Tea did not come with a third course, but my grandmother and I each had the choice of berries with cream, or assorted pastries. We each choose something different so we could share. The berries were perfect, sweet but tart, and a huge serving. I chose the chocolate cream filled eclair and chocolate covered strawberry over a fruit tart, or strawberry cream filled swan pastry.

It was all wonderful, and along with Jiko, was my favorite meal of the trip.

I'm glad you liked it. It was one of the highlights of our trip in Dec. as well. It was our first stop when we got there. DH and I did the Buckingham. Made for a nice light lunch.

Thanks for a great review! The GF Tea is on the top of my list for my Dec. trip.

Thanks for the review, I'm looking forward to this on our upcoming trip.
The hardest part is picking the flavor of tea but luckily DH said I could choose for both of us! :thumbsup2
We have reservations for the tea a week from Saturday, do you know if the renovations will still be going on then?

Oh, I love their chicken salad sandwich.
hhmmm... maybe time for another GF Tea run.... popcorn:: :rolleyes1

Thanks for the review! :cutie:

Do you know if you are able to substitute a for the sandwiches if they have something that you don't like?

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for the review and pictures. We are excited to be going there for tea in March for the first time.:yay:

How far in advance can you book the Tea? I want to do it for my birthday in December...

Thanks

Do you have to make reservations at all? I thought I saw people without coming in once before and they accommodated them. Also, can this be used as a TS on the DDP??

Thanks for the review - DD and I went last time, and I tried to convince dh - wo we have an adr for our OCT trip (so yes, you should have adr's - not sure if they take walk ups, but when I asked for times for one day, they only had 2 open times)

This is not on the DDP. DD wanted to be "grown up" and have tea, we met up with other dis'ers - they ordered the kids sandwiches, the CM saw dd face - and immediately offered to switch dd food - no extra charge! :thumbsup2

I couldnt get into your facebook page - but I thought to include some "generic food pics" from the Tea! (love the fancy wedgewood china!!)

(dd has been trying several different teas lately, again, I think its because she wants to be "grown up" - she's 11)
