HELP!!!!!!!

Ive been looking at all the various tours available for Grand Canyon / Lake Mead ........ Dont know which one to go for - plane / helicopter/ raft / coach there are so many choices -Now very confused!!!!!!:confused3

Is it best to pre book these tours or is it just as easy to sort out when in Vegas??

Is there any difference in price pre-booking or booking a few days before??

Any comments on various tours taken would be helpful???

This is our first trip to LV and will be there a week - so if necessary we could have time to sort whilst there.

Your help / experience would be helpful - Thanks.

Did 5 night s in Vegas this Feb . It was our 1st time & an early celebration for our silver wedding (in July)

We did the sunset helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon with Sundance Helicopters. It was fantastic. Would recommend it.

They picked us & 2 other couples up from our hotel in a big limo & took us to the airport. There we were assigned groups & helicopters & then flew to the canyon where we landed & had a picnic. You didn't reallly need the picnic but landing in the canyon was amazing. We then flew back at sunset, Again fantastic views.

When we got back to vegas it was dark & we flew down the Strip which was all lit up. Once landed we went back to our hotel in the limo.

We booked when we were in Vegas via our Virgin rep. It may have been cheaper to book via the internet but we didn't. Saying that if we had booked from the UK DH would have had to pay extra for another seat as he was over the weight limit! But booking through Virgin this extra fee was waived.

By the way DH wore his t-shirt & said he was warm enough but i took a jacket & needed it when we landed in the canyon. One woman in our helicopter wore high heels ! & struggled so you need sensible shoes or trainers.
Also they weigh everybody at the airport but luckily don't broadcast the result!

It took approx 4 hours, if you go on a bus it is a full day.

Do ask if you've any other questions re Vegas.

We had a brilliant time!

Thank you so much for your reply - the sunset trip does sound lovely and one i am very interested in. I think i may leave it and book when we are there - like you did, with the Virgin rep - hopefully availability will be fine as we are going end May!!

Any other tips or advise are welcome - being new to the 'Vegas' scene. Did you see any shows whilst you were there?? I have booked for us to see the 'Love' Cirque show at the Mirage - but that is all at the moment. Can you pick up cheap tickets to see shows whilst you are there - i was thinking of doing this????

Was thinking of renewing our vows whilst we are there as well for our Silver Wedding Anniversary - Any tips welcome!!!

We saw 20 mins of Love & what we saw was brilliant. Then fire alarm went off we were evacuated & then show cancelled!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also saw Elton John which we enjoyed. If we'd have been there longer would have gone to see another Cirque show but we ran out of time!

There are a couple of booths seling cheaper tickets but none for Love or Elton.

Sorry didn't renew our vows.

What a shame - only to see part of the Love show!!! Can you remember what seats you had? I've been wondering about our seats....hoping that we are not too close ...as i've heard that sitting back from the stage area is better that being in the first couple of rows! We are in Section 208, Row K seats 4/5.....any thoughts on our position???

We would really like to see Elton - but unfortunatley he is not on during the week we are there - Celion Dion is but i'm not such a fan of hers!

Re seats we had the cheapest right at the back but no problem seeing. When it first starts there are large drapes hanging from the ceiling & we were worried we'd miss a lot of the action but they soon disappear.

There have been reports of a lot of good shows at the half-price booths lately (though many are 25% off, not 50%). In particular MamaMia is often available and is a great show.

If you want to do a vows renewal, I highly recommend the folks at http://www.vivalasvegasweddings.com/

My brother is a helicopter pilot in Vegas and he pilots the the grand Canyon tours. He LOves the Vegas to Grand Canyon tour because from Vegas they are allowed to land down inside the canyon. Plus you get to fly over Hoover Dam and see a lot of amazing scenery.

This isn't a pitch for the company he works for, because I can't even remember what the name is, just a plug for the tours to the canyon from Vegas.

Hi...another question!!!
Just been searching on the 'Sundance' website re trips. The sunset tour which you went on sounds perfect - on the websit the total cost for this is $430 / person - does this sound comparable to what you paid booking it through the Virgin rep - thats if you can remember?
