Grand Canyon...best time of year

For those of you who live in the AZ/NM area, or those of you have been to the Grand Canyon....what is the best time of year to go?

The only time we went was in August 95. The weather was actually beautiful. It was hot but not unbearable. I loved Arizona and can't wait to go back, however we want the kids to be in their teens before we return.

Being an ex-Flagstaff, AZ, resident, I can tell you that autumn (late-September, through mid-October) is the best time of year. The aspens turning color add quite a lot to the entire experience. Have fun, it's quite beautiful.
