Has anyone been able to stay at the grand Californian yet?? If so what were your thoughts??? How does it compare to other DVC resorts??? Does anyone know if its going to be difficult to book since it sounds like there's not that many rooms compared to the resorts at wdw?? Any tips or tricks that you've learned?? Thanks for any information!

The VGC is my favorite resort and the rooms are very comparible to other DVC resorts. We stayed in 4506 which is a dedicated 2 bedroom unit with a wonderful view of DCA's Paradise Pier and will have a great view for the new World of Color show set to start in April.

We purchased 100 points at VGC this past August but actually plan to stay only every three years. We also have points at OKW and AKLV's. I purchased specifically because I think it will be difficult to book certain room types and dates of travel when the resort is sold out. I won't be as flexible in travelling there as I am to travel to WDW ( which is 10 minutes from my home!). I think most people have been able to get what they wanted this year though but the more owners= less availability in the future.---Kathy

I am very tempted to add on at VGC as well for just the reason that dclfun stated. We have stayed twice on points just in the hotel and LOVED it. I'm anxious to stay in one of the villas. :goodvibes

I say GO FOR IT. You won't be disappointed!

We leave tomorrow morning for DL and VGC. We will be there all next week in a 1 bedroom. We booked it last year just after it opened up and no issues getting the time we wanted.

Now just have to pray that the rain stops.....

I think the consensus so far is that it has been easier to book than anticipated. I have made 3 reservations so far with my BWV points (life keeps interfering with our plans!). For 2 of these, we had to waitlist, but the waitlist came through fairly quickly (I guess others have had as many changes in plans as me!).

My impression is that studios are selling out first, followed by 2BRs and then 1BRs, with GV really hit or miss (there are only 2).

Best of luck -- Suzanne
