We had a nice surprise in store for us during a recent trip to DL. After 2 nights at the very clean, nice, and convenient Carousel Inn and Suites, my parents treated us to 2 nights at the Grand Californian. What a beautiful hotel. The rooms were great. My parents had a very large room with 2 queens and a daybed. We had a room with a queen, bunkbeds with a trundle. Our rooms faced away from the park so we didn't have a view but it was very quiet. You can walk right out one door of the hotel and you are in Downtown Disney, and walk out another door directly into California Adventure. The walk to DL was about the same as the walk from Carousel Inn and Suites but much more interesting. On check-out day we checked our bags and spent most of the day by the terrific pool. We celebrated our 4 year old's birthday there with a character breakfast and she was given balloons, a birthday button and an autographed picture of Minnie at check-in. What a treat!!!
Oh my gosh! I would stay @ the GC again in a heartbeat. MY DH & I celebrated my 40th & our wedding anniversary in a concierge level room facing the park. We live in CA & frequent DL & the hotels there. This was our 1st visit to the GC. The service was wonderful & the suite was great. The view, directly into PP in DCA was unbelievable. At night the whole pier lights up! We had a party in our room & the bellman filled the 30 balloons we bought @ n/c. Also, our fav restaurant is in the hotel. We always eat @ the Napa rose for special occasions. Their wine & food pairings prepared especially by the chef are marvelous. The weekend was spendy, but it was only 2 nights. It is a beautiful hotel. And since land space in limited here (Unlike WDW) it is the crown jewel of the 3 hotels. Actually, they are bad, good & excellent. Guess which hotels are which.

Wow! I wonder how old you have to be to be considered for the senior rate, do you know?
