Hi, we are only 4 weeks away from our trip and I was hoping to put in a room request at the GCH. I know its only a request and not guaranteed. But still want to do it.

Can anyone tell me which wing/building is closest to White Water Snacks, Pool and Entrance to DCA? Which is closest to DTD entrance?

Last time we stayed there we were in the main building with a room you could see the door if you looked up from the lobby IYKWIM. It was great but I seem to remember it was a bit of a walk to the pool.

Also which wing/building should we avoid due to the construction of the DVC? My DS still has a daysleep and I don't want anything to interfere with that.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Cheers
Angela

We got back on Saturday and stayed in room 2356, which is on the end, near the stairs. The stairs led right out to the pool, and to the left was White Water Snacks.

Just ten minutes ago I booked our winter trip for the GC, and I asked for the same wing, but up a few floors. From the second floor, the trees blocked our view.

Have a great time! I love the GC!

There is a map on another website, but the address gets blocked when I put it in here. :confused3

To be in the wing that is closest to Whitewater snacks, you want to get a room whose last three numbers end in: 334-360 (even numbers overlook the pool) or 333-359 (odd numbers are mostly a theme park view- I think. We have never stayed on that side of the hallway).

Hope that helps.

Have fun! :goodvibes

We stayed in June in the "300" Building and thought it was an outstanding location for access to the DCA entrance, pools, Storytellers and White Water Snacks.....down the elevator and just a few steps away from all the above. It was more of a walk, though, to the DTD entrance. I can't tell you how nice and convenient that that DCA entrance is!

We saw the construction going on in the form of a large crane while we were out at the pools, but we did not hear any construction noise. I don't think the noise would bother you in any fashion.

Have fun! We, too, cannot wait to return to the GC, it was awesome in every way!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay:

Here's a website, Tink's Travel, that has very good hotel layout maps plus a bunch of pictures: Edit: drat, now I remember, for some reason that link won't paste. Anyway, go to dlresortinfo dot com, /grandcalifornian/grandcalifornianhotel.html

Go to the pictures column on the right, and click on the guest room map, and the lobby level map, to get a good overview.
