The Grand Californian has continued the tradition started a few years ago of creating an impressive gingerbread house display in the lobby. The Parks Blog posted some photos of the display in early December (PHOTOS – Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the Disneyland Resort). Overall, it looks very similar to the designs in 2014 and 2015, but it's still fun to look at.
According to the sign board, there are 25 hidden Mickeys on this year's gingerbread house. Some are easy to find, others are quite difficult. (My family found 23 of them...photos will be posted in the trip report soon!) For those that wonder, the snowman Mickey in front of the house, does not count as one of the hidden Mickeys (we asked the Chef at the artist signing).
There was also a pin signing on Saturday, December 10th. Jorge Sotelo was in charge of building the GCH's display, Jean-Marc Viallet was in charge of building the HMH gingerbread display, and Bo Bolanos was instrumental in getting displays into the resorts (including the DLH).
