Hello,
I have never been to Disneyland before and I need some help. The Grand Californian look really nice. Is it worth staying at concierge? Can anyone tell me if they serve good food and wine in the lounge? Do they serve breakfast, snacks, cordials and dessert in the evening? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also did anyone eat at Napa Rose?

Concierge at the Grand Californian is lovely. They do have continental breakfast available, snacks and water/sodas during the day and a very nice wine/cheese evening service as well. I think they do also offer late night snacks and cordials as well, but we didn't partake of those. :)

Michelle didn't partake of the late night goodies?!?!?!

Shame on you!!:p

It's a gorgeous resort! If you like the Continental Breakfasts, if you know you'll be in your room in the afternoon for snacks and sodas, if you know you'll take advantage of the wine and cheese in the evenings, then go for it!

Someday, when the kids are all grown up, Mrs. Floydian and I plan to do all kinds of concierge service vacations. But right now, we just can't be sure we'll take advantage of the services, and can't afford to pay the extra cost unless the kids are willing to stay home.

lightbulb!!!

Hmm.....maybe that's what we should do.....just leave the kids at Grandma's House while we go visit the Mouse House! :jester:

Brad, we took advantage of enough of the wine and cheese hour to not NEED the late evening cordials! ;) :p But we did get cookies for the kidlet.

It really is a wonderful concierge service and if you can afford the splurge it's well worth it, just for the breakfast convenience alone. :)

We haven't stayed at the Grand Californian, but did a thorough walk-thru during our last trip. My husband and I made reservations and had a VERY nice dinner at the Napa Rose. It was a splurge, but we usually splurge for at least one great meal on every trip. The decor at GC reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright design, its kind of upscale lodge feeling with beautiful stained glass windows. The food at Napa Rose was wonderful and the atmosphere was very nice. We changed clothes for dinner after a day at the parks. I think we would have felt out of place in our shorts and t-shirts, but I'm always surprised how people dress even at the nice restaurants...to each his own I guess.

Have a great trip!
