We're staying at the GC in September and were hoping to use Pinocchio's Workshop while going out to dinner, just adults one night. But I read that its for ages 5-12, and DGD will be 2 months shy of 5 when we go. Are there any other options available?

Okay I might get flamed for this, but how would they be able to check how old she is? Does she look 5? Does she act 5? If the answer is yes, then I'd make the reservation. If you booked your trip for two months later or you had her two months earlier, you'd have no problem. It's arbitrary....close enough.

The worst thing that could happen is that they grill your daughter on her age when you drop them off, she tells them the truth, and then they turn you away and you have to go out to dinner with your kids. At Disneyland. Doesn't seem that big a deal if you miss out on the adult meal.

I don't think this is the same as getting into a place at a reduced rate by fudging ages, or sneaking onto a ride with a shorter height. Both of those are "cheating" rules that are in place for financial and safety reasons. To me, this is an age range that makes sure kids are old enough to act properly and not too old to cause a problem for the caregivers or be bored with the activities.

As an alternative, I believe they offer the phone number to some local nanny service but I personally wouldn't do that--it doesn't seem as safe.

However it works out, good luck to you!! It will be fun either way, right?

Thanks, and you're right - fun anyway, after all we'll be at Disneyland!
