Grand Beach Vacation Resort?

I'm sorry I can't give you personal information - because I haven't stayed there, but Tripadvisors has many reviews. It looks like the reviews are up and down. Click HERE to read more information

We stayed there a couple of years ago. My oldest son thought the dual master suites was terrific, since he got one of them. Some of the other rooms were on the small size because of it.

We had a nice unit and no complaints. It's in a good location, right across the street from Sheraton Vistana.

We stayed at the grand beach resort in 12/2005 and absolutely loved it! We had a 3 bedroom unit and it was beautiful, very clean, and VERY SPACIOUS! Our party included myself, DH, DS3, my Mom and Dad. So the 3 bedroom was absolutely perfect for us. The 3 bedroom has two huge master suites with queen or king beds (I'm pretty sure they were king, but can't swear to it) and private baths- one with a jetted tub, the other with an equally large non-jetted tub, both also have large showers. The third bedroom was very reasonably sized with two twin beds, a dresser, end table and closet. And the third bath was a decentl size also with a tub/shower combo.

The resort does not have a restaurant, but it's location is awesome- very close to disney and all types of restaurants and shopping. I guess it really depends on what type of resort you like. I think this resort is considered to be a bit quiet and intimate. It is much, much smaller than the Sheraton Vistana (which is located right across the street) but it also doesn't have some of the aminities of the larger resorts either (namely restaurants). For us it was perfect because we prefer the more intimate, less crowded atmosphere of the resort and we had a car and there were a lot of restaurants in the area we wanted to try. Plus you have a full size kitchen so you could even prepare meals if you wish. The resort has 2 pools. Both pool areas have a kiddie pool and hottub, but neither have a slide or any water features that would make them particularly exciting to kids. However, but both pool areas were beautiful and the pools themselves were spotlessly clean. My only complaint about the pools was they could have been a bit more heated (which of course is not an issue in the summer, but it was in December!). Actually that would probably be my only complaint (and I would be hard pressed to even call it a complaint) of the entire resort.

As you can tell, we were very please with our visit, and would glady stay there again!

Thank you for all the great information..I am happy to hear the positive replies!

I am glad to have read this thread. I just book this in a 3 bedroom for Sept 29th... 7 nights thru a SkyAuction's Home Away From Home wining bid. I had wanted a 3 bedroom & this one had it. I do not care about not having restaurants onsite. The area this place is in has so much to choose from anyway. I was more interested in the rooms.
I can remember when my kids where younger they use to call this place the "mini Grand Floridian"...because it was white & has the peaks like the Grand Floridian does :rotfl: . Now that they are much older, they will be staying there.
I did read the reviews on Trip Advisor & they seemed more positive than negative. You cannot please everyone all the time... I get worried when the majority say the place stinks... when more than half enjoyed their stay, then I feel confident going.

Definitely kings and quite comfy as I recall.

in 10/2001 and in 11/2005... both times in 3 bedroom units through skyauction. The units were very clean and lovely for both visits! My kids enjoyed the pools, and we did a few activities at the resort which were inexpensive and low key. We also rented paddle boats and a canoe on our last trip and went out on the lake. That was fun (we didn't see any gators!). I don't have any complaints about this resort. The staff is friendly, and the location is ideal.

Parking is convenient under the units, and the have non-smoking buildings. We would return here anytime.

Enjoy your trips!

My stay here is fast approaching.. I was just reading some reviews on Expedia & there was one where the guests said that the Grand Beach did not provide toilet paper & trash bags. Can anyone confirm this ... a yes or no?? Also, can anyone tell me if there were any tissues, dish detergent...
I know Westgate had the coffee filters for a few days, dish washer tablets, trash bags & toilet paper. Had to wash your own linens unless you waited for mid-week echange. Then over at Vacation Village, they supplied, soap, paper towesl, dish detergent, dish washer tablets, laundry soap (if I remember correctly), coffee filters for the entire week, tissues, you were able to exchange out your towels & sheets every day if needed......
I need to find out what I have to bring with me...thanks in advance... :sunny:

We stayed here 2 years ago during Hurricane Frances. The staff was great and we felt very safe there. The condo itself was very nice and we really liked the 2 master suites.

Here are a couple of pictures of the condo just fyi:

Thanks for the nice pictures, we visited there once and looked at the pool area. I only saw one pool near the main road, where is the other one located?

There is one pool located near the end (the 535 side) of the buildings and there is another by the main checkin/clubhouse area.

Thank you, which pool is nicer? Does either one have a waterfall or zero entry?

I think they are both about the same..no waterfalls or zero entry that I remember..pretty basic pools really
