I can't get the Search to accept this. We have a chance to get a free week here as a gift.

It can be any of the Sunterra Resorts. Is this one the nicest? Is there a restaurant onsite? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you can get any of the Sunterra resorts in Orlando then take Cypress Pointe. It is close to everything you'd want and is an RCI Gold Crown resort.

Anyone want to give a second opinion? Is Cypress Point better that Embassy Vacation Resort?

We stayed here for a week in 2002. I won a 3br thru skyauction for $222 for the week. We liked it very much, but I don't remember a restaurant onsite. Our villa had a large multi-purpose area- kitchen along one wall, dining area in the middle, large living room on the other side. We had 2 master bedrooms, each with it's own shower/steam cabinet, jacuzzi soaking tub, sink area and toilet as well as king sized bed and television. LR had huge TV, vcr.dvd player, sofa bed, etc. Third bedrom had 2 twins with TV. There was also a full sized bathroom that opend oto the main hallway. full sized appliances in the kitchen, including washer/dryer. Balcony was fully screened with a ceiling fan- wonderful place to have morning coffee, waiting for my family to awaken and watching the birds over the water. Pool was good (we are not big pool people, DD would rather be at WDW), clubhouse was good (small store, videos, etc). We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we could get another great deal on this property...spacious, clean, comfortable.

We stayed at the grand beach resort in 12/2005 and absolutely loved it! We had a 3 bedroom as the previous poster described and it was beautiful, very clean, and VERY SPACIOUS! The resort does not have a restaurant, but it's location is awesome- very close to disney and all types of restaurants and shopping. I guess it really depends on what type of resort you like. I think this resort is considered to be a bit quiet and intimate. It is much, much smaller than the Sheraton Vistana (which is located right across the street) but it also doesn't have some of the aminities of the larger resorts either (namely restaurants). For us it was perfect because we prefer the more intimate, less crowded atmosphere of the resort and we had a car and there were a lot of restaurants in the area we wanted to try. Plus you have a full size kitchen so you could even prepare meals if you wished. The resort now has 2 pools. The new one is quite large, and also has a kiddie pool and hottub. It doesn't have a slide or any water features that would make it particularly exciting to kids, but both pool areas were beautiful and the pools themselves were spotlessly clean. My only complaint about the pools was they could have been a bit more heated. Actually that would probably be my only complaint (and I would be hard pressed to even call it a complaint) of the entire resort.

Feel free to PM me if you have any additional questions.

As far as location they are both about the same..same size units..and both are smaller resorts without a huge amount of amenities..nice pools (CPte has the volcano pool) C Pte also doesnt have a restaurant but are working on reopening the snack place and store..the units have all just been totally redone in C Pte versus not sure about the condition as compared to Embassy

I think you cant go wrong with either
