Has anyone signed their children up for this?

If so, how was it?

Also, what did YOU do while they were cooking --

Thanks!

Bumping and telling you that my DS did it when it first started many years ago and loved it. We thought that the chef and CM's were very caring and loved the kids. My son enjoyed it as he did the pirate cruise.

Hopefully someone who has more recent experience can answer some more questions.

We have had two sets of our Grand children do this and they all loved it. While they were in there we went on to the kona Cafe for breakfast and the other time we went downstairs to the Grand Floridain Cafe and had breakfast. We think the part they like best is when they are finished they come out in the lobby of the Grand Floridain and pass out the goodies they have to made to everyone. I would reccomend it to anyone for their children to do. :bounce:

My daughter has done this and it was great! Each child got a chefs hat with Mickey ears on it (she wore it to every park afterward) and they also got an apron that the kids decorated with their hands. In the end, they placed some of the extra goodies on a cart and went into an area off the atrium and passed out free deserts.

I shopped while she cooked, but I should have gotten some type of spa treatment.

I highly recommend it! :goodvibes

My DD did this last year and she really enjoyed it. They don't actually bake though - they decorate cookies that are already baked.

DD got a Mickey chef hat and she also decorated an apron with her hand prints, which is a wonderful souvenier!!! Here is a picture of her so you can see what the children wear.

While she was doing the class, we went to the Contemporary gift shops and also the Grand Floridian gift shops. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me.

Our daughter and son (ages 7 and 5 at the time) did this Nov/03. They had a lot of fun. They watched a bit of a movie while waiting (Finding Nemo, I think) for the others to arrive. They decorated their chef's hats and aprons, and then made "Worms and dirt" (Chocolate pudding, Oreo crumbs, and gummy worms). They made individual servings, and then served them to the GF guests in the lobby.

We walked around the GF grounds, toured the shops, and then went to the cafe for tea, coffee, fruit and pastries. The waitress found out we were from Canada and told us the manager was from Canada too. So she tracked the manager down, and she came out to talk to us for a bit.

The kids loved it, and we enjoyed our 2 quiet hours as well.

Grand Adventures in Cooking takes place at the day care center (Mouseketeer Clubhouse) at the Grand Floridian.

According to the Passporter, it is offered from 10:00 to 11:45 am on Tue and Fri for 4 - 10 year olds. The cost is $28.17. Cancellations less than 24 hours before charged the full amount.
